The same issue again...My mom warned me not to use credit card because of safety reason, even though I don`t shop online. I only use it to verify my paypal account as I get writing job and the employer only pays me via paypal. I live in Indonesia, could please share your experience verifying your paypal account? Is it possible to verify it using our debit card, NOT a credit card?I don`t want my card to be misused/abused online, my mom keeps warning about that. Unfortunately, most banks in Indonesia don`t know anything about paypal whatsoever. I get stuck with it, could you please help?thank you very much indeed

Paypal is safe. This security system is guaranteed. To verify it, you cannot use debit card. You have to use credit card. Though some say we can verify paypal using debit card, I still don't know the trick. If you do not have credit card, use virtual credit card or VCC. It is cheap. And later if you got expired, just verify it again manually. Submit what paypal want, like the photocopy of identity card etc. Above all, paypal is the best in this moment. I guarantee that.

OK2 thank you so much for your explanation. About virtual card, I read an information about that. If the card expires, what about our PayPal account? We still can withdraw our money from the bank, right? Are you sure people can`t see our card number and use it for wrong reasons? As my mom doesn`t know anything about internet, but her credit card was misused some time ago, someone used her card number to shop at the expensive boutique. Then the card was blocked by the bank.Thank you again for helping me

It is absolutely safe to use PayPal. They have a very secure system and do NOT share your credit/debit card information with anyone. Technically, verification is a very simple process. It simply involves: 1) Giving PayPal your account details so that they can deposit amounts into your account. 2) Your bank/debit account/credit card account accepting payments from PayPal 3) Your ability to access your account statements and to report back to PayPal that certain amounts have been received into your account If your bank/credit card allow payments from PayPal but do not allow PayPal to make authorised withdrawals, then you do have a problem and probably contacting PayPal will resolve it. They should have a list of Indonesian banks which accept PayPal. Giving your debit/credit card details to PayPal is very secure. Only PayPal hold that information and they will NOT pass it on to any third party. All transactions are conducted through PayPal and all that any person you pay through PayPal will see is your PayPal email address. They CANNOT have access to your bank/credit card details. That is exactly what PayPal was set up to prevent!

This is an excellent explanation and I understood it very well. Thanks. I am from a country that paypal does not service and I think my locak banks here to do not do business with paypal. Can I still verify my paypal account with my local bank visa debit card.

It's safe, definitely. Although recently they changed their policies because of some scam issues, they still remains as the safest sites to transfer and deposit money. Actually you can also verify your account by linking your local bank account. They have two options for you. One is using credit/debit card and another is using bank account. I used the bank account option and it works fine for me. Perhaps you can call the main bank in Indonesia to see whether they support Paypal or not. Hope that helps

Yes it is absolutely safe to use Paypal as long as you don't give your password to someone you don't know. And you can also of course use your debit card instead of credit card to verify your Paypal account. I'm using my debit card too as it is quite difficult to apply for credit card in my country. Good luck and have a nice day

Yeah, paypal is safe, I use it all the time, never had a Problem. You just have to be careful because of spam and so on, people trying to find out you credit card number and so on.

I can tell you from my experience. I have verify Paypal account about year ago. I was also a little sceptic about security. You must give all your data and also your debit card number. But everyone I ask said me that is safe. I read some forums and got positive feedback. So I verify account and have no problems till now. So I use Paypal now for one year after verification and everythink is ok. So I can tell you yes it is SAFE.

Though the number of users, and services that accept Paypal should really be safe, enter the Paypal site and has a lot of documentation to enter the credit card is easy, but you have to check whether you can use in their country bookmarking service Paypal, remember that they charge fees, then the money is deposited can be a little less than you receive in the bank. As an example, this service is that you're using that I is Mylot pays its users for the service Paypal. Good night.
