Despite the snow and frost I am really pleased to see that the thrushes have returned to my garden.
We have not had many around for a few years the kestrels and the buzzards have been killing them but this year I seem to have a family of them nesting in the garden as they are hers every day asking for food.
This cheeky chappy even poses for us!!
At the moment I have blue t1ts, wrens, robins, sparrows, thrush, ringed doves (and of course the darned starlings!!)all queuing up for food - goodness knows what they'll do when we go to my daughter's for Christmas!!
Have you got many bird visitors needing feeding up this winter?

We have lots of wrens, robins, sparrows, doves, and cardinals. The cardinals have nests in the trees out back. And, of course, the starlings have moved in for the winter. Hate those bullies. We also have plenty of female gold finches, the males seem to migrate for winter and return in spring. Don't know why the females stay.
I have a bay window that looks out onto the front yard and feeder so my 3 cats have a great time watching the birds all day.

I haven't taken the time to watch for them, and I do enjoy watching nature. I was thinking of you when I read this poem.
Angel Feather Poem
This is an angel feather,
sent from God above,
to serve as a reminder,
of his gracious love.
It's from your guardian angel,
that God himself assigned to you,
And fell out in his struggles,
as he protected you.
Each time you almost stumble,
Each time you nearly fall,
Remember to
Thank God and his angels,
for answering your call.

It is neat that you have such good visitors. Perhaps you need to mix some seed and fat, or peanut butter to last (suet feeders) and put them out right before you leave. It is great to see the wildlife move right in. Another advantage is at least some of them eat bugs. Makes for a happier garden.

I feed the birds as well throughout the winter.
We have blue jays, gray jays, chickadees, and a few other variations.
My cat loves watching them. Check my pictures and you can see her. lol
It just something that my other did when we were kids and now myself and my sisters continue to feed the birds.

It is lovely to see small birds in the garden. We have few, as being close to the sea we have a large gull population. I would like to use them as target practice: but as you know we are so left wing in the UK that the only thing that you can give anyone grief for is working.
The recent airshows in Bournemouth have soured their numbers. So with any luck we will have the small birds back.
