Is it important for you to have a nice swimming suit?

Even though I´m not that young anymore, I still love to have a nice swimming suit. I take good care of it because the swimming suits I buy are usually the expensive kind (but last me for years). I have had my last one for over 6 years and although it´s still ok, I decided to buy a new one for my next vacations in Aruba. I bought it online and had it sent to the house of my childhood friend who lives in the US. That means no shipping charges. And she is coming for a visit in February so I´ll have it in March. Are swimming suits part of your interests? What type do you prefer? How do you shop for one? Share!

Ah.... nothing like the perfect swimming suit... Granted - I'm a guy - so it isn't overly complicated for me. I love my swimming suits! It is really pretty hilarious because I have about thirteen of them. So how does a guy have thirteen swimming suits you may ask... well... I'm not sure exactly but it is like I am hoarding them in case there is a world shortage or something. In reality, part of it has to do with the pool I swim in. But first, I always wear a form-fitting suit underneath my board shorts - just for... :) I don't know... security reasons? Anyway they keep the pool 'extra' chlorinated and that extra chlorine starts eating through one of my undersuits in about a month. A second reason is because I can get some EXCELLENT swimming suits for pretty darn low prices online :). So yeah - I buy them :) But if anybody is looking for recommendations - I have an opinion... :) Thanks for the topic!

We have a deset in my country. It´s the world´s dryest desert but if you drive to the coast, you´ll have the Pacific Ocean nearby(to use a swimming suit) Our dessert is not a sandbox either. It´s more like rocks and stones.

I do have a couple of swimsuits.they don't have to really nice, but they should provide me great coverage.my swimsuits are almost more than 2 years and they are still well.I prefer one-piece swimsuits over two-pieces swimsuits.I also have a rash guard for swimming.

Most of the bathing suits I have had in my life have been one piece suits, but I like them to be nice, with a good fit. I buy good and expensive swimming suits as I´m bigger than the common women in my country. But they last many years. I have a new one now, but the one I bought before this one is still in use and I bought it in 2004.

Hi Margy. I enjoy swimming and a nice swim suit is important but it also has to be appropriate. I'm quite big now and rather self conscious of my weight so I rarely don my swimsuit. It's a very nice black and white, two piece with a long top and black tankini pants so I am sufficiently covered (although some might say I need to cover all of me...). I purchased this one at a sale several years ago. Unfortunately, the water here...it's bore water that we swim in and wash our clothes with, swimming in the mineral water is supposed to have therapeutic health benefits, is not very good for the fabric of the swim suit I can assure you. The fabric is becoming slightly stiff and losing it's elasticity...or perhaps it's designed to do this so we replace our swimsuits more often.???

I need to feel comfy in my swimming suit and that´s not easy. I am a big woman, not obese but a little overweighed. I discovered years ago this awesome (and expensive) swimming suit (Gottex). I have it for years of use and it´s still good. So I decided to buy myself another Gottes swimming suit, if I could get it online. I did and an friend of mine who lives in the US bought it for me and is bringing it on February. Needless to say, the one I liked was the most expensive one. But if I look good on it, it´s worth it. And, who knows, it might be my last swimming suit as I´m 65 years of age.

I take care of my swimming suit too because I buy the chlorine resistant ones because we have a pool and the ordinary swim suits do not last due to the chemicals in the pool. It was expensive but I’ve had it for years. It’s a black full piece and most flattering because it covers the nasty bits quite nicely! I bet you are looking forward to yours arriving!

I am! Monica called me and told me it it was BEAUTIFUL! I´m tryingg to slim down a teeny bit, although I bought it my size. But, as you say, it´s the nasty bits the ones we don´t like.

not really, because it means nothing when swimming is just a different type of bath so I do not put any effort or thought in to it. If I take it as a sport then I would be seriously think of quality and the cost etc. I do not a keen interest in swimming so I do not care of such as you do.

I bought a lovely swimming costume when I was 34 years old and on a trip to Portugal. It was blue and gray which some stripes on it. I liked it very much and lasted about eighteen months. Then I bought a maternity swimming costume and it is blue. It suited me well in my pregnancy. I would like to buy a new swimming costume but it being winter will mean shops won't be selling them at this time of the year. Maybe I would have luck getting a new swimming costume at a sports shop. It is superb idea that you are getting your new swimming costume for Aruba. Hug my dear friend.

I am thrilled about my swimming suit, Maxine! This is the first time I shop online, but could find the same trademark of my last swimming suit. So I found one with a similar shape (I like V neck to look thiner) and its aubergnine. They shipped it to the US where my childhood friend lives. She is coming on February and will bring it to me. She already called me telling me it had arrived and that it was a beauty

A nice swimming suit is important because this is how you attract others. i bought mine from a department store. Although it's a famous brand, but at that time it's on sale, so it is not really expensive anyway. I don't often go to swim. So actually a good swimming suit can be used for years. However, I have three more swimming suits since sometimes I forgot to bring my swimming suits and therefore I had to buy it when I arrived at the water park:) I love China

In my searches I found a wonderful canadian site where they make your swimming suit with your measures is the material you like. There´s a lot to choose from and the ship it free to the US. My daughter and granddaugter need BIG cups and they are going to check it.

It is nice to show your body in a nice swimming suit and so if you have flawless skin, a skimpy 2-piece suit works well but for so many who have bulges, it is not nice to look if they wear the 2-piece one. I prefer shorts and swimming tanks since my body is not so nice I had to hide a few bulges. Toinks!

I wish I could have a chance to have a beautiful swimming suit too but I don't really know how to swim. Well I do swim but just not as good as other people. So I don't really go for swimming even though I thought it could be one of my hobby when I have free time. Have a nice day

I am a woman, and 65 years old. So that I could not use a dress or shirt to go swimming. Besides, I´m buying this to go to my next vacations. I work online and use all my earnings for vacations. This time I already bougth the tickets (to Aruba) and I´m working to pay for part of the resort I have booked.

Buying the best equipment money can buy when it comes to your chosen field of sports is always the best practice, since sports is a physical thing, you should not only look good , it should be the strongest and and most comfortable you can afford. It is however one of the things I do not buy online, I get mine in a good sporting goods because I wont to try on before I buy

This is the first time I´m doing this (buying a swimming suit online). The reason is because in my country it is very difficult for me to buy what I want. The last swimming suit I bought was made by a world known maker. So I checked online and there it was. The size, the colour and all the trimmings. I can´t wait to see it but would love to slim down a few pounds before February

It seems men care less for clothes usually. And you are right: there are more styles for women although man´s swim wear are made of different colors now
