Odin and Vidar the two Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs that featureds in one of my doggy christmas photos are having a whale of a time out in the snow!! While we humans may be getting a little fed up of the snow these pair -as you can see in this photo - are loving it (but they have got their coats on!!) How about your animals - do they love or hate the snow?

The dog on the right actually looks like his is laughing..lol..Yes, both my girls love the snow. They are a beagle/border collie mix and I have seen Ciara, (The one that got the long border collie coat) lying down in the snow the other day. Made me shiver..lol

My family owns a Basset Hound. It's odd because she hates the rain but loves the snow. Sometimes, she's so low to the ground, that the only part you see in the snow is the tip of her tail. And it's funny when she gets the snow stuck to her black nose.

Oh I love basset hounds, she must get very cold being so low down in the ground!!

If she gets cold, we'd never know. She stays outside forever! Unless it's windy. She hates how the wind blows her ears around.

No snow here yet. My cats do not like snow, but then you cannot expect cats to. I know that dogs do enjoy the fresh cold air.

We have a bassit/cocker mix and a lab/weiner mix and they both love the snow. They are both black and white and disappear other than their tails. I love it! Now if it's raining, they won't go out, but if there is snow, they almost hurt themselves to get outside and fluff around in it. Most of the time, Macy (the bassit/cocker) will bark at the snow flakes and try to chase them down even though she's surrounded by it. Baby, the other dog, jsut jumps and throws mouthfuls of the snow up into the air like it's a toy. I love that. I remember being that way when I was younger. I swear my dogs keep me young.

Nosy Vidar - Who do you think you're looking at?
They do bring so much fun don't they?? I've just come back from a walk with them and my friend. The youngest - the puppy Vidar is so funny, I love this photo I took of them, he is being really nosy!!

I have a 7 month old kitten and she loves to play in the snow as well. She jumps, runs and plays in it. So far this winter, she likes to go outside. I have had cats in the past who would rather stay inside where it is warm.....than go outside....a lot like me actually. LOL

Yes it is unusual for cats to like the snow - they tend to like their comfort and warmth more!!

My cat Humbug just hates it, he puts his paws out and the shakes them like mad!! He is far too spoilt!! That picture is lovely - what beautiful dogs they are!

Cats are creatures of comfort aren't they"!! I had one that used to love winter and the electric blanket going on and she'd crawl under the duvet and snooze away!!
