Since, we all know Facebook is the largest social network in the World at the moment. I was wondering if you guys would greet your friends and family overseas or locally via facebook instead of SMS or calling. We know nothing beats actually talking to that person. If you guys would greet them on facebook, what is the best way to greet? Is it via wall posting or via sending a private message?
please do share any comments and opinions.

I used to greet my nearer ones' by private massage. I think private massage give a closeness and the reader can realize that the massage is composed for him only. wall is the best platform to giving our general discussions and replies. But for any special occasion private massage is better.

Well, private messaging is nice to keep messages on the low down or keep it private. But, How can you send a whole lot of greetings with in a few minutes?

I think there is an option in the facebook to send massage to a list of peoples. If you go to massage/new massage tab, then you can add the name of your friends (as many you want). I think this will make some sense.

Hi there! Well it really depends. If I am putting in a private message, of course porivate messaging will be more approriate. Normally I will post on their wall for normal stuffs. If I am greeting and going to ask something personal or something I feel it is a little 'better be secure', then private message is definitely better.
Just my two cents.

Well that is really good and nice of you. I think you are a good friend to your friends. Sending each one a different message seems to be a lot of work. Good job. Happy Mylotting. Advance Merry Christmas.

For christmas greetings, I will send each and personally as I cherish their friendship especially to those who are close friends. I mean each messages are different to my close frineds. For just normal friends, a simple copy paste would do and yes, all by posting on their wall!

Forgot to share about the related reasons.I hate messy walls, and I do not want to make my friends miserable if I mess with their walls, spreading private conversations here and there.

Well, I also hate it when I see a wall of posts on my wall. Private messages are really cleaner but, it will take a lot of time to send Greetings to all though. What do you think?

Well, sending private messages are okay. But, for me they seem to take much more time to do. Anyways, Happy Mylotting.

I use the walls of people I want to greet. If it is an important person or I really need to contact him or her, I use PM.

Well, I do the same. It is actually easier to post on walls rather than Private Message people. But, private messaging is actually a lot Non-louder.

Well, Wall is good for general greetings, What about specific greetings for a person?
