Armageddon is a Christian concept originating in the Bible. It refers to the final battle between the forces of good and the forces of Evil and after which the world will get destroyed.

Basically its the total wipe out of all evil in this world. Its a clash between good and evil..and the good will prevail.
Derived from the Hebrew words Har Megido (?? ?????), meaning "Hill of Megiddo". For more info see Revelations 16:16 in the new testament bible.

Armageddon is a place explained in the Bible/Biblical name for where the final battle between God and God's enemies will take place. This will take place somewhere in the Middl-East, between the armies of those nations opposed to God's rule, and the All mighty God. All those nations that are not believing in the true God will come together at this place Armageddon(near Jerusalem)to fight against God. But all God's enemies will be destroyed. Hailstones 50kg in size (+/-110lb.) will fall from the sky and kill many of these enemies. also earthquakes so huge, the biggest ever in the history of the world, that will split the City of Jerusalem in three, will kill many. Thunder and lightning bolts will will kill many more. And the cities of the earth will collapse. It will be a terrible day. All the armies that will come up against God will be destroyed for ever. Thats what Armageddon means: place where God will destroy the enemy armies of the world. God's judgement on His enemies. (Armageddon explained in Bible:Revelation 16.)
