This discussion is about choosing a country and discussing five places in it worth visiting. Like Italy is a country in Europe. Its capital city, Rome, would be worth a visit because it has lots of historical sights. There is a city called Venice which has lots of canals. Florence is well known for its art galleries, Sardinia is a picturesque looking island. Naples has many attractions around it like Sorrento and Capri Island.
Which country are you going to choose?
Can you suggest five places or sorts of destinations to visit there?

Ok. I will go for my country, the Philippines. There are so many places to choose from but I have to choose 5. hehehe... My fellow Filipinos may or may not agree but here are my top 5 places. First, there is BORACAY ISLAND. For many years, it has been in the list of the Best Beaches in the world for its powdery white sand. Next we have BATANES. A picturesque island where they say time stood still. We have PALAWAN, where you can find the longest underground river in the world, cleanest lake in the country, an open prison, safari island, El Nido (the best resort to commune with nature), and Amanpulo (a luxury resort frequented by Hollywood celebrities, supermodels and other famous personalities around the globe). Next, we have BICOL where you can swim with the butandings or whale sharks, find Mayon Volcano (known for its perfect cone), Bulusan lake (known as the Switzerland of the Orient), CWC (the best watersport/cable park in the world), and the famous Caramoan Islands (used by 5 or 6 other countries as their location for their version of Survivor). And lastly, we have ILOCOS. There is a few UNESCO Heritage sites there because of its old churches and one particular city which is Vigan. Vigan is a place where you can see how life was during the time when we were colonized by the Spaniards. You can see the old houses and cobble stoned streets and kalesas (horse-drawn rig) which makes you really feel that you are living in the year 1890 or so...
So there you have it... :D

I forgot to mention Bohol. It is in the Visayan region, southern Philippines. Bohol is famous for the chocolate hills. It is a thousand hills and brown in color, as you look at them they look like chocolates hence it was called chocolate hills. Another attraction in Bohol is you can find here the smallest monkey in the world which is called Tarsier, you can hold them with your two hands.

Yeah, I agree with you Banawe, Sagada and Batad are also a nice place to visit and Bohol too. But I only have to say five... Maybe you should do your own list just to prove to them that there are still many beautiful places to see in the Philippines. :D Merry Christmas!

It is a called the kingdom of thunder dragon the last Shangrila. It is one of the most expensive place in the world to visit costing more than $200 per night.

This is easy for me, but I would have to change your peramiters a bit. I do not leave the USA, not because I do not want to but because I cannot afford it. So I would list 5 places to visit in a specific state or even a town.
I live in Texas and so I would suggest visiting Austin, Fort Worth, Corpus Christy, San Antonio, and Galveston.
In Austin there is the state capital along with some interesting things to do and tons of live music. Fort Worth has some great museums and a huge stock show and rodeo every year.Corpus is one of my favorite places on earth. The beach, tons to do for all and even some history in the USS Lexington that has been turned into a museum. San Antonio has amusment parks and great radio stations. I have never been to Galveston, but it is on the list I have been told that it has been rebuilt enough to truely enjoy after Hurrican Ike.

I could do the obvious here and choose my own country Australia, but I will not do that as I am biased towards local areas that I know. Plus, most people here on MyLot are unlikely to ever make the trip down here. I will choose the five areas in the USA that had an impact on me when I travelled through the country in 97/98.
1. Yosemite Valley in California is the most spectacular place that I have ever been. It is a must see!
2. Lake Tahoe on the California/Nevada border is incredibly beautiful and I have many fond memories of working and living there for four months.
3. The Grand Canyon in Arizona is incredible. Most people would know of it and it truly deserves it's fame and popularity as a travel destination.
4. Niagara Falls. Technically, when I visited this wonder of the world, I was on the Canadian side of the falls and this is the most popular viewing area. But as the border is right there on the falls, I will include it as a USA destination.
5. Arches National Park in Utah. This desert park is amazing. The rock formations are straight out of Hollywood westerns that I grew up watching. There is a reason for this as a lot of films have been made there in the park. It is very spectacular. I could have spent weeks wandering around there.

I choose to suggest enchanting places from India. This peninsular country has enthralling tourist destinations which attract tourists from all over the world. Delhi the capital of this country has places with historical importance. Agra has Taj Mahal the 7th wonder of the world along with many monuments. Goa is famous for its ravishing beaches, forts and palaces. The Himalayan region is full of beautiful hill stations and Darjeeling being the Queen of hills is worth visiting. Last but not the least is Kerala which is termed as god's own country has plenty of flora and fauna, Ayurvedic resorts, back waters, and also hill stations. These are to name a few. But visit India to explore its beauty and incredibility.
Happy mylotting.
