Do we need guns?

Cops have guns. Army personnel have guns. Criminals and terrorists have guns. So cops are after criminals and soldiers after terrorists. What do we need a gun for? We can't hunt as it's illegal. We can't intimidate others because that would be a serious offense. We can't even kill ourselves because our religions forbids that. Why then people buy guns? Do you own a gun? Why did you buy it?

The cops can't go after the criminals until AFTER they've already killed you. Do you really want to have to wait or would you rather be able to defend yourself?

I wouldn't need one myself. I'm dangerous enough without them. My wife on the other hand would.

I don't have one and never will. I completely agree with your thoughts that there should be no reason for anyone to have one. They do more harm than good. However if people stopped buying them then there would be even more people out of work so someone pushes the market suggesting that we should not be without one I guess
