Hi everyone at mylot. I have a chance to research on the complex subject of baby sleeping.Yes it is complex. There are many many aspects of baby sleeping. I was wondering if you would like to share how long does your child sleep? By child I mean every son or daughter that you have who is less than 10 years of age.
This will help me in researching more about sleep patterns in small children because I have plans to write articles about baby sleeping.
I would like to start my toddler who is currently one and a half year old sleeps for utmost 12 hours, he sleeps for 10-11 hours at night and takes a daytime nap of 1 or 2 hours in the afternoon. What about you?

Hi GoldenAsh!
My baby is turning 3 years old next month. She takes a nap 2 hours in the afternoon. She's a late sleeper, most of the time she sleeps at 12:30am but she wakes up at 10:30am,so that means she's having 10 hours of sleep at night. Our babies got the same hours of sleep, almost. I'm satisfied withe her sleeping habit, for as long as she takes a nap in the afternoon, that's already fine with me.
I just worry when she doesn't because she's making tantrums when she did not sleep in the afternoon.
See you around!

Hi mtrguanlo thank you for your response, I believe your baby had good sleeping habits.
I agree with your tantrums viewpoint, my baby also gets a little uneasy if he does not take his daytime nap.

My children are aged 8 years old (my daughter) and 4 years old (my son). Both of them tend to sleep for about 9 hours a day. They go to bed at about 10 in the evening and will wake up about 7 in the morning. My youngest will occasionally sleep an hour or so more than his sister because he doesn't go to school yet, but it isn't always the case that he sleeps longer than his sister. On weekends they will both sleep about an extra hour.
I'm interested to find out what kind of articles you will be writing about sleep patterns in children.

My daughter is 3 years old now. Her bed time is 8pm she is usually asleep by 8:30 or 9 pm. She wakes up on her own on the weekend by 7 am. The latest is 8 am. On the weekdays I have to get her up by 6:40 am at the latest. She no longer takes naps daily. Sometimes on the weekends and then at most an hour nap. When she was a baby she would sleep from 9pm till 9am. She was a great baby and she would take a morning nap of an hour and an two hour afternoon nap. She was a preemie born 11 weeks early so I am not sure if she slept more than other babies. She has always been a really good sleeper.

Thank you pastigger for your response. it seeems like your little angel sleeps well.
12 hour sleep per day is very good for a 3 year old, but you might get tired because of no daytime naps. but good "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise."

Hi iamkami, nice to meet you. thank you for sharing your experience. I can give you some suggestions to increase baby sleep time.
Regular massage may make him sleep more and also make him more intelligent, make sure the massage is relaxing
Bath before sleep helps many parents
complete darkness at sleep time
a lullaby or rocking position can also help.

hi wackyjacky, you might get too tired if your baby sleeps for three hours only. How old is your friends baby, I guess he is younger than one year old because only infants might take 3 naps a day.
