I got a blog and its in a blogspot subdomain from Google. However late this year I have decided that I want to buy my own domain. What confuses me right now is the fact that maybe if i transfer my subdomain blog to a new first class tLD domain, my page rank 2 will be gone. how true is that? Will transferring my subdomain blog will result into loss of page rank?

Yes it will but you shouldn't focus on the PR, it's worth nothing. The amount of backlinks and the qualities of them matter as well as the amount of regular visitors who suddenly can't find their blog anymore.
