A few months ago I tried another mile race, with shoes on. I ran an 8:10. Tried a 2 mile race, ran a 16:20. Then about a month ago, I ran another 2 mile race, and somehow pulled off a 15:40! I couldn't believe it myself. I've only been focusing on short distances lately though. I need to build up my endurance again so I can do some longer distances like I used to enjoy. But I'm just glad to have finally broken the 8 minute mile! Next I'll see if I can do it on a 5K.

Oh no! No more marathons, lol. One was enough.
Although, I did try the Runner's World pace calculator and according to that thing, if I were to fully train for a marathon, a sub 4 hour is possible based on my 2 mile time. If it really were possible in reality, I'd consider it. Because on the last one if I had been done at 4 hours I would have been pretty happy. I refuse to run for over 5 hours ever again though. :)
Definitely looking forward to running a 5K whenever I can though.

Thanks! Yes, I definitely feel healthier than before I was a runner. However, I haven't been running as much lately and I definitely feel the need to run more. I only run about 5 miles a week now. I want to get back to running at least 15 miles a week, preferably around 20 something.

Good job. This spring I'm going to start getting back into 5ks. Good luck with your running career!
