How to get an idea of the Indian stock market?

I am interested in the Indian share market. But to be frank, I have no idea of it. Can anyone help me to get an idea of the Indian share market? Can you also suggest some sites for the purpose from which I can have the basic idea of the Indian share market?

If you are interested in trading in Indian stock market there are number of them and as the Govt moniteers the stock market through their agency they are all genuine. I know one good site..www.icicidirect.com.In fact I have an account and I am fully satisfied with their services.There are other sites like www.sharekhan.com which is also said be good and reliable..All the best...

The name of www.sharekhan.com has also been suggested by someone else. So I have to visit it as it may help me a lot.

well, i'm from the u.s. and know india is going to become more and more a strong economy along with china. there are some indian stocks that trade in the u.s. one of them is tata motors which i've made money off of. its starting of strong and hasn't been around no where near as long as other auto companies.

India is a developing as people want to catagorize, but it has a thriving economy. I do not know anything about that information you sought, I am sure India has the sharemarket you can invest. Please the sites some of our friends from India give you.
