why do people assume that I like shopping?

Just because I know how to dress nicely, and bargain hunt, why is it assumed that I like to shop. To the contrary, I really do not like shopping all that much. It is a necessity. My family and i need to have clothes that fit, and fit our jobs. I despise shopping near the holidays, and most of the time have my christmas shopping done sometime over the summer. I avoid the stores on Black Friday, even when my bargain hunting kicks in, I do not enjoy it, it too is also necessity so I stay on my strict budget, especially with a 2 year old who is going through clothes like they are nothing.

Hi, People are the common judge and they do judge you as they see you. It could be that you are more often seen in the market shopping this or that and they do not know what actually you are there. Let them talk and go on with your work. This is what I follow.

There is definitely enough work to be done. I do shop at places like Target Greatland, and super walmarts that have a bit of everything.

I can find a ton of good stuff at thrift stores, and it keeps me on my strict budget. if I cannot find it at the thrift store, then I probably didn't need it anyway. Now if I could just get my husband to see the value in that.

People do make certain assumptions and judgments of other people because of how they look and how they dress. I don't know why it is just assumed that when people dress nicely they must be chronic shoppers as well. the opposite may be true instead. people of all walks of life can enjoy shopping. The well dressed don't corner the maket on shopping habits.

I guess i should be flattered that they think i dress nicely. I have become the thrift store queen due to my current budget.

I am one who so loves to shop if I am able to financially. But my boyfriend so hates to go shopping but does love to dress nice. So lucky for him I do all the shopping for him and won't even ask him to come along as I know he does not like it. I agree with you as he has been asked where he shops for the nice clothes he buys and he always tells people he utterly hates shopping.

asking my husband to shop for anything is pointless. I have to finish up the stocking stuffers, even for his family, because I cannot seem to get him out there to even run to Walgreens and pick up Itunes gift cards.

I'm the same, I don't like shopping but I do shop because of necessity. I had some friends in the past who called me up and invite me to go for windows shopping with them, well they did really mean to buy something though. Then I told them I don't want to go because I don't like shopping, then they laughed at me and said they saw me shopping at the market the other day, then accused me to be pretending being someone else. I didn't care, I just told them to find someone else to shop with them because I really can't be bothered LOL. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

I agree that there is a big difference between enjoying shopping and doing it out of necessity. I wish there were more people out there who just shopped and bought out of necessity, then maybe the economy in the US would not be as bad, because people would not be up to their eyeballs in debt.

I just had a bunch of people over the past few weeks asking me if I wanted to go shopping with them, and then acted completely shocked when I said I did not really like shopping. I guess i do not understand how they could completely misjudge my liking or lack there of of shopping. I don't talk about it all that often if at all.
