The only morse code that i know is
for S-O-S, which is two longs and a short,
actually long, short, long.
I think that's right.
I would be signaling the wrong
thing I fear if we were all trapped
on a sinking or stranded ship with only
morse code as our available communication.
I don't think it would be too hard
to learn.
I don't know many ways to use morse
code these days, if you have a cell phone.
But, I guess it still serves a
useful purpose.

hello youless. It's really impractical at this time to use morse code. Using it requires experience both on the sender and receiver side. I don't see any reason (except for learning) why people should use it. Like what others said, enjoy now since we already have the technology that's a lot easier and convenient to use.

youless,
I suppose the new communication technology is much more easy and user friendly for the everyday layman than the Morse Code which will require additional learning.
Besides, Morse Code equipments like an Econo Keyer aren't that portable as compared to a simple cellphone, which is so much easily accessible and carry around. I know there may be cellphone or rather smartphone apps for this but again, who will want it over short text messages.
I suppose the average person will still prefer something more straightforward and easy. Besides, there are some people already struggling with short text messaging what more to send a message in Morse Code.
Take care and compliments of the season.

hi youless because its old and inefficent and needs large stuff
that does not go with modern cellp;hones, we have advanced past
that into easier to use codes that are more easy for
an ordinary street person to use. so just relax and be
'glad we are much further ahead now.
