How to open a computer shop business or internet cafe? Is there any guidelines or feasibility study?

There are a lot of things to consider in putting up an internet cafe. First of course the capital. You will need a large capital for buying your computer units, getting fast internet connection, paying legal fees for permits, and other miscellaneous bills. Second of course you need to find a good location to put up your internet cafe. It should be accessible to people specially to students who are the majority of your customers. And lastly you have to choose the right people to be assigned on your net cafe. They should be the one who you can trust and the one who can maintain the computers as well.

How much capital should it needed to setup a 50 units internet cafe? that can handle gamings and fast access or internet. What is the best ISP that is best on an internet cafe business? Is $20,000 enough to start?

Here in the Philippines, $20,000 is more than enough to start an internet cafe. Because here, you will really find good discounts if you buy a lot of computer units. Like for example, if you're going to buy at least 20units of computer, the selling price for each unit will be just around $200. You should at least do a research where to buy computer units so you would be able to get bargain prices without sacrificing the quality.

You have to research the costs of unlimited and quick Internet. You have to secure a few computers that would work well and of course the tables and chairs etc and office space. Before starting I would make sure you are aware of those costs and also see if there is a demand in your area for such a business.

You would need a great graphics card for the computers and make sure the Internet speed itself is quick. I would be aiming at 4gig Ram and 250 Hard-Drive as the starting point but it also depends if its only for gaming etc.

Please consider the location where you are going to put up your internet cafe.
computer cafes are best installed at the city proper, near the school area or trading area where there are many probable target markets but make sure that on this area there are few competitors. researching is still the best solution.
If you already made your decision to put up, think of a name of your business and registered it with the DTI.

Hi. Maybe you can make a research on this topic and ask the people who really open the business. In our country, it is so easy to open this business, because you just need to buy a few computer and buy a wifi or internet connection. It seems one connection for many computers, so it will save the money. You should make more research on it in internet, there are many guidelines for newbie to open business.I hope you success.
