The best way to save money is to make sure that you ALWAYS put aside a certain amount each month or week, regardless of whether you think you can afford it or not. See your savings as one of your 'essential expenses', like rent, food or utilities. It doesn't matter how little it is, so long as it's something and a regular amount - either a set amount or a percentage of your income. Open a separate savings account or take out an annuity or other kind of insurance policy so that the regular amount goes into a place which is not immediately accessible and so that you are not tempted to spend it on unnecessary luxuries.

If you do not already have a budget, it is important to start one. Learn how to use a spreadsheet and set up a simple monthly budget using it. That way you will know what is coming in and what has to go out each month. Savings should, of course, be part of your budget.

If you open up a saving account you will surely save a lot of money and you will get interest on the money too. The interest won't be much high but still something is better than nothing at least.

You never know what may happen in the later days of your life, so it is essential to save some money for our Future. Savings really helps us a lot. When we are in Urgent need we don't have to depends us on someone, we can just Consume our savings. Savings saves us from the Begging part. It has happened to me that earlier I never saved money and when In need I used to literally beg for money from my Friends. But now I have learnt my lesson and I save money from my Income. It really helps a lot.

Well, one way that my husband and I save is that we opened a high interest esavings account. And we try to put in some change in it whenever we can. So, that's one way that we save. We also try to budget and be smart about what we spend, although sometimes it is difficult for us to do.

I agree with owlwings that it is very important to put aside a certain amount of money every month or week to discipline yourself. But, at the same time, I would say that "putting aside" cannot be a source of savings by itself. It's just a supplement. Saving - it is thinking about where and how do you spend you money. About each purchase, every day, every moment. For instance, is the thing you wish to buy something really necessary to you, can't you get it cheaper somewhere, wouldn't it be worth to search for some discounts etc. This is the actual source of savings. Putting aside won't help alone, especially, if you have a credit card or a credit line in a bank.

Hi friend. I save my money with keep it in investment account and also save a small amount of my money in my box. So, I will get the money when i really need it and I also do not buy something expensive or I do not need it. Today I really can live with my money I have and can use it when I need it.

I try saving but it is so hard as things cost so much more than they used to. I am able to save some, but not a lot, as I have had to use some of it for paying bills. I don't like to do that as I like to save it for things that I really need or want. I am sure going to keep trying though, as I do need to save as much as possible. If things didn't cost as much as they do, then it would be much easier to save. good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I only spend money on what I need which is clothes and food. I don't buy electronics. I got a free phone from Sprint. I try to buy things cheap and shop at cheaper stores. I love Amazon Prime with it's free two day shipping. I'm glad it's available to students. My whole family has been using it.

I save money when I am given my allowance. I keep a small amount of money from the allowance. When the money builds up, I can have money to spend in the future.
