Take these simple facts and observations...The Bible records that the highest age of human before the flood reached at 969 years old,you want to know his name? Please read the of Gensis. After the great flood, during the time of Noah, the average span of years was reduced into 393. Later, the Psalmist says that the span of human age was again reduced into threescore and ten, that is 70. But if he does not abuse his body he will exceed and have more strength to live. Today, science observed and stated that in our time, the average life span is only 62 years. it is due to the fact that we are litle by litle poisining our bodies through the chemicals everywhere,in our food, in the air we breath, drinks, and the kind of lifestyle we had. To be specific, cigarette smoking is very dangerous to our health. In every stick of the cigarette that the person uses,it is equivalent to hundred of seconds that are subtracted to his own life. Are you aware of that? Do you have in your family having this kind of vice that destroy his body and making his life short?

I don't beleive that lives are becoming shorter. I think life spans are the longest they've been known to be, due to medical advancements and lower risk lifestyles in this age of technology, safer and more reliable water supplies, protection against simple illnesses that were once big killers, people no longer starving when they could no longer hunt or forage. yes, the mordern world brings many new health risks, but life itself is far less harsh than it was, and we are seeing many people passing a centuary, when being in fifties or sixties was only recently considered elderly.

I think you have to separate statistical data and legends here. The average age of humans has increased continuously over the last thousand years. More and more people die of old age and not because of violence or diseases. There is no doubt that there are a lot of chemicals in our food today which are unnecessary, unhealthy or even poisonous but you should not forget about the consequences of vitamin deficiency and malnutrition which weight heavier than slow (and most likely little) "poisoning" because of food.
