According to statistics interest in reading magazines has gone up all over the world. There are new magazines hitting news stands each week or each month . There are innumerable magazines written on Politics, Social Issues, Women Issues, Home and Garden, Nature , Travel and of course Films in all languages.
Personally speaking, I read a couple of weekly magazines in Kannada , our regional language, and two English magazines regularly and any other magazine I come across. But somehow the only magazines I stay away from are Film magazines.
Friends ,What kind of magazines interest you? In regional language or English?

Mostly news magazines. I like digests too! As far as languages are concerned, English and Telugu. I can read Kannada too as the script has similarities with Telugu, but understanding is limited.

I really enjoy a lot of different magazines but I don't always buy too many of them. I do purchase Runner's World but I really enjoy Biking and Backpacker's too. Those are my three favorite but I also like certain nature magazines and more educational magazines. i also enjoy some of the healthy food ones and any kind of fitness magazine!

I do read monthly magazines. Some I subscribe to and read regularly, and some I would buy at the bookstores while walking around and browsing in the store. The ones I subscribe to are those related to my work, my business activities. Reading magazines is a very helpful way to keep updated with the developments in the country and in different parts of the world.

Hi kiran,
I generally read weekly magazines in Bangla(Bengali)our regional language. I also don't like to read Film magazine. The pictures of this type of magazine are mostly
vulgar. I'm interested to read travel magazines. I also read short stories and political topics. I was a subscriber of the famous
English Magazine 'Reader Digest'. But this magazine filled my bookshelf. So I gave up to read Reader Digest.

Hi bhanu,I too am not a great fan of film magazines, in fact , haven't bought one or read one for years. Travel and nature magazines are the best to read since they are interesting and give you a lot of knowledge - all the best Bhanu, enjoy your evening

I don't really read magazines that often to be honest. I would never read any magazines about politics, that gets my nerves enough as it is, magazines would just exaggerate certain stories and stuff, just as much as newspapers do. I used to read sports magazines about Italian football, and i used to read car magazines, but i don't anymore.

I use to read a lot of film magazines but have pretty much stopped because most of what I ended up reading I had already read online at some point. I still look through the occassional one but no longer go out of my way to read every edition of one.
Other than that I tend to look through a few other entertainment based magazines, mainly those who cover what is happening in the TV industry. But again I don't go out of my way to read every edition because most of the information can be found online.
And that is why I am surprised that the interest in reading magazines is on the up because most of the content can be found online for free.

Hi tdc, thanks a lot for the responsethere was a time when I too used to read a lot of fim magazines , but after a while one gets over it..You know, I never have read any magazines online so do not much about it, now after this discussion I have been trying to locate them here lol...I have always bought magazines and read them. However when we see the percentage of people possessing and using the internet, it is very small in India, so I can understand the magazine business doing well..have a nice evening

Car magazines interest me most. Preferably, if there's a magazine about planes, I'll be more than excited. I read car magazines to see what cars are featured inside, and what are the specifications so on and so forth. I don't know but it just interests me to see all those cars, that represent the advancing technology that's occurring in our Earth right now. I will prefer to read in English as I'm well-versed in that.

There's this local magazine which I love the most. Its in English and there are some articles written in our local language too for better understanding. I like to read parenting, fashion and also celebrity issues sometimes. I also love to read magazine articles regarding enterpreneurship and earning money in any legal way.
