Monkey as pet in America?

Hey I just had a question about pets in the USA.
Is it legal to have a monkey as pet?
If yes, what do they cost and where do you buy them?
Not that I am buying one becouse it is illigal here in Holland.

yes you can have a monkey for a pet in the u.s.a. and you will most likely have to look around and ask at the pet stores

i do not think so. i have known a few people that had a monkey.
