What is your favorite way to teach about Jesus to your children?

My favorite way to teach about Him is to have family dinner time where we pray and talk about why we give thanks. We go to church. I have yet to go find a childrens Bible to read to them, but they would eat up every word as they both love to be read to. My son is funny, I have caught him with his tv on, sleeping like an angel with TCT or some other Christian channel on.

MEE, personally teach my kids by example. I try to live my life in accord with the life of the Christ. My children see my walk and hear my talk and ask all sorts of questions. Each one of them have had a bad example from religion and it was a learning process for them as they have slowly became disillusioned with the Dogma and creeds the same as I have. My children have their own lives and I have never tried to force my beliefs upon them and they have turned out to be strong independent young women for it. Some still waver in their ways but that is what life is about, a belief system has to be your own or else it may fall aside. I want them to be Strong and Independent, knowing their Heavenly Dad for who He is, not what someone tell them He is. That is my Loving Dad and I just hope they come to realize that as well. No matter what, if they ask I will inform, but if they do not, it is their life and I just hope my influence will help their path. But they never fail to ask. Have a great day!!

This is very very true. Everyone has their own walk with God. Aided by Jesus. :)

We can only help that our example has had a deep enough impression on them for them to keep on the straight and narrow! Thank you for the response and have a great day!!

Both of my kids are grown up and married, but when they were little, I would read to them fro My Bible Stories by Arthur Maxwell. they never seemed to tire of hearing the stories, and I would read to them all the time. They would also sit with one of the books in their lap and look at the pictures, as that has lots of pictures it it that relate to each story. They were stories that we can all relate to, as they deal with different situations in a child life, and they all teach wonderful lessons. I still have the Bible stories even though my kids are not longer at home. I have some little grandsons, that might like them someday, so I will save them and give them to my daughter to read to them. Take care, and have a Blessed Christmas.

Arthur Maxwell does have some beautifully illustrated books. I have Your Bible and You by him that my uncle Tom gave me years ago when I was a kid. Sadly its still almost in new condition. That ought to tell you something. However, my new testament from when I was a kid is so worn out its falling apart... lol... So I guess thats about even. I dug that Your Bible book out of the closet today and wouldnt you know, my daughter latched onto that thing and wouldnt put it down. She loved looking at it.

I have taught faith to my children the way our parents have taught us. We go to church, attend bible studies where children listen to bible stories. We participate in church events. I think our children now know their faith and what is expected of them as true believers.
