Hello guys, i just read something in internet and i'm so impressed, that i wanted to share with you a part of the text, asking for your opinion...
The text contains: "We know how to survive, but we don't know how to live. We did many years of living, but no real living during the years. We went to the moon and get back, but it's hard for us to cross the street and to get to know our neighbors. We conquered the cosmos, but not and our own souls. We do bigger things, but not better things. We cleaned the air, but we made our souls dirty. We vanquished the atom, but we couldn't do it with our prejudice. We write more, but we learn less." and so on stuff from our real life. It's written by George Carlin, so right now i ask myself do we use more than we need?
Of course we can always say ourselves - i deserve it, i worked so hard to have that.
But there are things, we don't choose in our life. Where to be born, where to live, which people to be our parents and so on ... So i'm just thinking now .. Everything in our life happens because of some accident.
So do we use more than we need?

I way overuse things. I give plenty as well. Still, I admit to there being a lot of waste that goes on in my household. Makes me sick sometimes. I have 2 kids though and they don't know how good they have it. I have been thinking a lot though that I should gift out the stuff that gets wasted before it becomes so. Leftovers in our house are tossed because the kids want something different... Someone can use that Im sure. clothes they outgrow go to good will but perhaps they can be best used as a community bank sort of thing for those that are in fires and leave with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Good topic friend. I have been reflecting a lot on this topic myself and have been feeling strongly about living with less.

Yes... right now we're doing it... we're consuming electricity, internet, and obviously money.
We always consume more than we need. There are lots of things that we could live without.
There are much people that really need some things we consider as elemental, so sometimes we must think about that poor, needed people that would accept gladly what we discard.

Because people ... and specially politics don't know their priorities, may be?
I can say for my country it was on first places for school knowledge years ago, now it was on second places. The priorities of the people are important. If for all of us is important to have money for better life, if we imagine this better life only with the picture that we need money to make our life better, we will totally lost, as we are now.

Yes I will admit I use more than is necessary to survive.I truly feel for those who are less fortunate and are unable to support themselves.I give to charity regularity and make donations to help relief efforts when their is a natural disaster.I think that those that give nothing and and overuse way more than is necessary to live comfortably should have a look in the mirror and really think about how greedy and selfish they are not helping their fellow human being.I try my best to give and occasionally over indulge my self but I give a fair share to help the less fortunate and think that others should be this way.The more that give the better our would will be with less starving people and those who cannot afford a place to live.

Thanks for sharing that great opinion, friend. I am sure that you are great person, if you do all of that. What i read earlier got me thinking not about money and donations at all, but the writer wrote about lots of other stuff, like most of the people talk a lot, but say less, so it's about attention, real care about the others. Lots of examples from the real life and i just am thinking and thinking, it will be long night. Thanks for sharing again.

I admit there are times that I use more than what I really need especially when it comes about eating and foods. But a lot of times that I remind myself how bad the habit is and try to remember that there are a lot of other people who cannot afford the same thing like my own family members. Thank you so much for sharing and have a nice day

Thanks for responding Kodu, actually i was thinking more about the whole life. Food is something normal, it doesn't mean that we need to eat cheap, because someone else can't eat the same, we all are different. It's more about appreciation for what we have and how ready are we to share it with someone ...
It's more about to be humans, not selfish animals.

I think I never use more than I need. I always spend money for the essential requirements of life because I know the value of money and also know how one has to toil hard for earning money.
