My husband and I and our children are hoping to travel this Holiday. We're hoping to go to my father in laws for Christmas. It's supposed to snow here but not there. We also have to try to find a way to get money for gas to get up there. I really want to go up there but it looks as if we wont be able to. The hard part is it's a 4 1/2 hour drive one way. We prefer traveling to see family and friends rather then them come to us. We love traveling alot. Is anybody else planning no traveling this weekend too or are you planning on staying home?

Luckily our family all lives close, within thirty minutes of us. We don't need to travel far to see them. With the price of gas and everything I'm very happy with this!

I hope that you and your family will be able to visit your father-in-law for Christmas. It is a shame the weather forecast says it will snow in the locality he lives in. At the moment there is snow and ice on the ground in the area that I live at.
I prefer to visit family and friends than have them visit me. I really love traveling and so going all the way to them is enjoyable. This Christmas weekend I will be staying at home and going over to see my sister. She lives within walking distance.
I am planning to travel in 2011 on a trip.

Good luck with that, the weather is a nightmare right now. There is snow storms and rain storms in nearly every part of the U.S. California is feeling the "Pineapple Express" right now (thanks Hawaii), the "Pineapple Express" is a rain storm that is coming to California from Hawaii for those of you who aren't familiar with the phrase.

I will be staying home with all my family members and celebrate Christmas together. But on the 31st, we will have a big family day and New Year celebration and most family members in my mum's side who are far away from our village will be travelling back because they decided that the party will be held in our village at my granny's house. Have a nice day

Hello friend, me and my boyfriend will travel after two days now and we will go to spend Christmas with my mother and her second husband, also my gran father and my uncle. I'm so happy about that, because i always used to spend Christmas with my family and i know how my mom is preparing herself and the house and the celebrations when it's holidays time. The most important for me is that Christmas is a family celebration, so i want to spend it with the people i love much more than everyone else.
Here we got little snow, but our problem is that my boyfriend has to drive in mountain way, so it could be little difficult for us, but i think that for two hours we will be there and i can cook with my mom with pleasure.
Have a nice time.

We are being invaded by out of towners this holiday season. With a two year old it is hard to travel, and getting all the stuff involved with having a two year old there. My in-laws live in Phoenix, and we live in Illinois.
Last year we traveled there, and it was a pain. not to mention the delay in flights, cancelled flights and all the other traveling disasters that could happen.

Hi magryl,
We too have a long holiday weekend here but the best we can do is to stay at home to avoid the holiday syndrome. I really hate to go out at times when the streets are full of vehicles and people bumper to bumper. Our traffic situation here discourages one from traveling on holidays. In times like this, it is a war zone over here, with fireworks lighting up its like the invasion of Normandy all over half the Earth.
My family shall have to venture a few walks outside the house to a nearby store to store up on provisions and duck back in before the full battalion of panic buyers for the holidays commences attacks on the streets.
Maybe when the pandemonium is over, we may venture to travel then and pick up the remnants of holiday shoppers on the devastated shelves. It may cost lesser too.
Happy holidays for you and your family.
