What are your views about homes that look the same?

Homes that look exactly the same, with the same garage, windows, styles, paint, layout. There are homes usually community homes where everything is similar and even if you own the home you can't re-paint the home or garden the front lawn or make any changes unless it's indoors, or your background which sucks because you can't make it unique..
Do you like that? Or would you want a home that you customize, make it your own? I prefer to buy a home that I can make changes the way I want not the way the builders want..

i want my house to be unique and i prefer to make changes when ever i wish to do:)

however we need a house to leave the entire life...
i like to built my dream house beside the beach!!!! ofcourse i love the water very much...if im in a depression mood, i can see the waves,,, which makes me to forget all my sorrows and deeply involve in it!!! the sound of that wave keeps me always happy...
i love to see tsunami from my nearest view and enjoy it,i don't even bother if my life ends...before my life ends i have to built my dream house beside the beach and enjoy the view of tsunami!!!!!!!!

How can you call it your home if there are restrictions as to what you can do to it? Then again is anything realy ours? If you have property that is in the government's way they take it and compensate you with next to nothing. The American dream is to own your own home, and the USA is all about freedom of expression. So owning a home that you can't express yourself sort of contradicts the whole point in the dream. I personally never liked doing what everyone else did, even in highschool. Call me crazy, but what ever was cool to everyone else automatically dropped 10 points in my cool book lol. I enjoy being a little different and making sure I do things that I like and not doing things just because, "everyone else is doing it." Famous words right? If I couldn't do what I want to my house and it looked like everyone else's I would feel like someone without a personality that can't make decisions for themselves. So there is my book on "No! I want to customize my house."

I agree, I wouldn't want a home that looks the same and you can't alter it to be unique. That is def. a no no! Thanks for sharing.
