This thing happened two days ago when I was in a public transportation going to work. I usually have this habit of reading while I was in a vehicle because it takes 30 minutes to work. In the middle of the travel, the vehicle stopped and a woman appeared holding an old man with his bag. The woman said to the driver that he bring the old man to the nearest municipal hall and I really don't know why. The old man sat in front of me, he actually smells really bad that the other passengers moved to the other side. There's a bandage in his left leg. He looks like those old man you'll found on the street begging for money or so. I ignore the bad smell (like poop or something) and keep reading until the vehicle stopped and with my earphone/music on I heard the driver say to the old man that its the municipal hall, and that he must get off. A little bit mad with the driver because he didn't helped the old man, I assisted the old man to get off despite the smell. I really pity him, unfortunately, I was too afraid to help :( I was planning to give him money but I forgot to give him because my mind was occupied by how will I help him take off. Another bad thing was, I didn't have a sanitizer or alcohol with me so I hurriedly went to the restroom to wash my hands when I arrived at the office. Hope you understand my English but if you are on my shoes, what would you do?

Hello friend, i would help the person and would put some money in his pocket, doesn't matter how much, as much as i can afford. I know what are you talking about, when i read about the smell, some people just smell that way, because of their clothes, or just they don't take bath often, old people smell that way usually because they are too sick to carry for themselves and their children left them to deal with the life alone. That would break my heart.
I've seen same situation, i've helped in the same situations and i am just thinking, why this people are left the way they are .... What are this adult people, who would stay their parents to live that way - poor, with dirty clothes and without any care of the family?
In whole her life, my mother was caring about her own mother, who couldn't stand from the bed in the last 5-6 years of her life. She couldn't move, so during the years she become really large size lady and even if my mom was about 50 kilograms, she was caring her mom perfectly. She even made her a chair like a toilet in the room, washing it in two hours every day, because her mother couldn't move.
Some people touch my heart and i feel them so close. Most of them are old people, if i have to be honest, people who has their eyes bored, tired ... They look like people, who are tired of this cruel life, tired of us the young people, who always care about ourselves without giving the right attention to our own parents, tired of this poor world we live right now, lots of problems and stuff for dealing every day, which are taking nearly whole of our attention so we can't care about our parents so much.
There is a person in our country, an old person, with long white hair and with so magic eyes. He got wrinkles on his face, probably he smell. He is begging on the streets and all he receive as money he donate as charity in our churches. All of our nation knows about him, even there is a facebook group about him. He doesn't use electricity in his home, no television, no cell phone. He stays in front of one church in our capital whole day long with traditional bulgarian old clothes.
I have never seen him, soon i watched a news show with him, when he gave on the church around $25 000 as charity. And i read that he doesn't ask for money, you can stop at talk with him and if you want, you can give him money ... and he will always say "God bless you son/daughter" (even if you don't give him money). I know that when i look in his eyes on the pictures, these eyes are like ... they say "what's wrong with you daughter? why did you lost yourself? where are you going? do you know which is important in this life? where did you lost your soul?" ...
That's something much more than everything someone can give to me. Emotions, which effect my thinking in a good way.
At general ... i would help, for sure.

@suggar: that's very nice of you. at that time i really am proud of myself actually because it seems that i was raised by my parents in a way that hospitality is born within me, lol. Oh well, if only I have the best means and the time to help others especially on charities, I'll gladly help. unfortunately, it seems that I can't fit it on my busy schedule and i am surrounded by negative people nowadays :(
@lene: that's very nice too! its a great achievement when you're able to help others on any way we can and our parents must be proud of us if only they can see the kindness we can do to others.
