International Violence

United States

I was born in the United States but grew up in Cd. Juarez Mexico and recently moved back to the United States because of my girlfriend and oh, the violence; that too. Although the violence is harsh it is not nearly as bad as it is presented by the media in the United States. Calling Juarez worse than Iraq is a joke. Nobody is shooting mortars or bazookas. The city is almost more calm than it used to be due to the fact that people go out a lot less than before. Business was hurt not by violence but by petty criminals who took advantage of the uncertain situation to start extorting business owners big and small time. Business owners fled to Texas in their majority, this fact ironically stimulated the economy of the bordering city of El Paso. Hundreds of new stores and restaurants moved from Mexico to the U.S. making El Paso the only city in America experiencing economic growth. Id like to hear from other people living in violent parts of the world and how life goes for them. I cant wait to hear from you all.
