A long time ago, I kept a gratitude journal. I just took a small notebook and wrote down everything that I was thankful for. I am thinking of starting a new one. It is just a wonderful way to keep an attitude of gratitude. For me, it is just another way to stay connected to my source, which I call God. What about you? How do you express gratitude?

I agree with you. Gratitude journals are mainly for being in contact with God and also it helps us to focus on negative things. Though I don't have my own gratitude journal yet, I'm planning to start one soon.

Just enjoy every day, every hour and every second of my life. Be friendly with people and helping others solve their problems. Showing them love and respect, and giving them without waiting to receive anything back.

It's always nice to be reminded of what you're grateful for in life. This life is too short and it'd be a waste if we keep it filled with negative feelings. The feeling of gratitude is nothing like other positive feelings. It makes us appreciate what life is and its essence. It's hard to determine its essence but when feeling gratitude, it feels like taking a peek at what life really is.

Gratitude in my opinion doesn't always need to be expressed, you can be grateful for so many thing in life. You can be grateful for your parent that took care of you for so many years, for your lover that loves you, for you kids, for a new job, or simply for the beauty of nature and so on.
If we are happy we smile, if we are sad we cry....but I think this does not apply for gratitude, when I'm grateful you won't see it, it is deep inside me and gives me a sense of peace and therefore I don't need to show it on the outside. And usually the people that you are grateful to don't need to hear or you to show them that you are grateful because they do the things they do unconditionally.

Hi! That's quite a good practice you have there. I never thought of making a journal of things I'm thankful for but I'm always grateful with everything I have especially when I feel down and depressed. It's something that a friend had told me when I felt so sad for a long time. He told me to at least remember 10 things I'm grateful for and it will help me get through my pain and unhappiness. But your idea of keeping a journal is a good one. I might start one by next year and list all the good things that happened to me this past year.

yes, that's a great idea too. i will start writing in a small notebook tonite. some people spend 5 minutes a day writing or some write in the morning or at night, just to know and help us remember how blessed we all really are. maybe we could start one here, ask every day, one or two things that we are grateful or thankful for.....what do you think?
