How do we make money work for us.. not really the other way around?

I have watched this show where someone was interviewed and it was said that the person who becomes a slave to money would barely even have enough because money can be both negative and positive... if you always try not to use your money and always deprive yourself... you will always be a slave to the money, the more you hold on to it, the more it to elude you.
So do you think this is true... that the more you try to just spend right, not deprive your self... not hold on to the money, the more it freely comes to you... like a river flowing....

a slave of money, is someone whose master is money
to him/her, money is everything
this person would NOT be spending much, but would want more for each dime spent
this person would NOT be spending right either, here is why:
spending money the right way, has nothing to do with being a penny pincher
and for sure has nothing to do with spending spree
in fact, spending money the right way, is simply getting what you pay
not MORE and not LESS
spending right, will not make you a slave of money
and you need to spend 'right' because if you don't, money will run away from you, instead of working for you

first let me say i know alot of people that are very wealthy. and i think they became a slave to money they are always working. money never comes easy. a friend of mine once said that making money is simple. all you have to do is figure out how to get the money from his pocket to your legally. sounds easy but is it? I buy pallets from vendio.com/store/your_store and sell the products in garage sales for extra money. but i do not let it engulf me.

What use has money if you hoard it and lock it up in safes and banks and never get to enjoy ourselves or even help others with our charity. One should not strive to keep on gaining more money except to live in a comfortable manner that allows us to help ourselves, family and others.
One should also invest smart and let the money work for us and not the other way. Greed is the root of evil and must never be justified.
