Painted house and Skipping christmas are my personal best . These novel are quite different from his usual legal thrillers . I like the way he adapts to different themes with ease.

Yes. A Painted House and Skipping Christmas were very different from his legal thrillers. A Painted House is one I especially liked. Nearly all of his books are good, but on occasion he has written some stuff that would never have been published and sold if it did not have his name on it.
