I was watching DVD with our Sony Bravia. I was watching this Deuce Bigalow (AGAIN). The first time I watched it. It was on cable no subtitle. When I was able to watched it again. It already have a subtitle.
I really checked the subtitle especially when the Black start speaking. He is so funny. But their was a scene where Deuce introduced his gf to his dad. And they brought this food called Raspberry Bibingka.
I am proud their is a stanza wherein they feature the food of Filipino.
Did you noticed that?

Rob Schneider is a Filipino so i'm not suprised they featured that there. I've seen the movie too but i didn't know they featured the food on one of their scenes. That's great to know.

Yeah it's not surprising because he is proud of his heritage. I haven't seen the movie but I've watched some of his movies and of course I always see him in Adam Sandler's movies.

Yeah, he always does cameos on Adam Sandler's films. I think they are good friends along with Ben Stiller.

I have watched this film on a few occasions. I must say though i had not really noticed what the food was that they had took. I do agree with you that he is a funny person, this is a great fil to watch several times over. Glad that you are proud of yourr roots and you were able to pick up on this being mentioned in the film.

I do vaguely remember the scene but its really not that surprising. Rob Schneider puts in a bit of Filipino reference to most of his own movies. I mean the one that he is the star or and not just a sidekick for Adam Sandler's movies.
Maybe you didnt know that Rob Schneider is half-Filipino. His Mom is Filipino and she has had cameo's in Rob's movies. That is how proud Rob is of being part Filipino.
You can try to watch out for more Filipino culture reference in his other movies.
Goodluck, have fun, and Happy New Year!^_^

It isn't a surprise to see that because Rob is half Filipino (her Mum, Pilar Sneider is a Filipino). I think it is also in this movie that her mother was included in the casting (I'm not sure, correct me if I am wrong).
I haven't noticed that they used bibingka in this movie since I am slow listening to the conversation. LOL

Schneider is Filipino and he is known to incorporate his heritage in his movies. I was not able to catch that scene, maybe when I catch it on re-runs I'll pay more attention.

I believe his mother is Filipino but he grew up in the US. We learn something new everyday right?

Rob Schneider's movies always have Filipino undertones and Filipino easter eggs. Plus there is always a cameo of his mother on his every movie. He is the only mixed Filipino in Hollywood who is very vocal about being Filipino. There are hundreds of Filipino Eurasians in Hollywood and they only say they were Filipino in front of Filipino fans.

We can blame them though they were not raised to be Filipino and I think they dont really like to be Filipino fans for some reasons.

I've seen the movie a couple of times but I never noticed that, I guess I wasn't looking for it either. Great that you noticed and brought it to our attention.

It's so fun to watch. I did not notice it the first time either but my brother watched it again last month and pointed it out to me. It's nice that Rob is representing us Filipinos in his own ways with his movies.

i have seen that movie before but i didn't notice the food that u mentioned but what makes me happy is that despite being a popular actor he is not ashamed where his roots came from.

I'm not familiar with Deuce Bigalow, but I know it must make you happy to have a Filipino food mentioned.
Here in the USA, we have a book and movie with one of my favorite foods in the title: Fried Green Tomatoes.
Here's something pretty uncanny:
Around Christmas of 2006, I got a craving for Russell Stover's Chocolates, and I also wanted to try a product (which, sadly, wasn't stocked at our local grocery store yet) called Thomas Squares.
On January 15, 2007, I met Russell T. Hartsaw (T, of course, being the initial of his full middle name: Thomas).
He has become a very special part of my life ever since!

Yes, I've watched that movie and I already had that idea of him mentioning bibingka in the movie before I even got to watch it. As a Filipino, I'm quite proud that Rob Schneider is also proud of his heritage. In some of his movies, he always add a few touches of our Filipino culture. It's fun to watch and Rob Schneider is quite a good actor.
