Hi friends and members,
Before i seldom used to dream, but of late i am getting dreams. But dreams are the same as i am doing and thinking what i do whole the day. When i go and see in front of the mirror i can see the tears dropping from my eyes. Why i am feeling guilty of my thinking and what i am doing and why they are reflecting in my dreams. Is this is a problem of psychology, am i suffering from something i don't know. My question is, is your dreams also reflection of your thinking or of your deeds?

Hehe, you know, many times I go to bed after deciding to procrastinate a report, I get dreams that alarmingly tells me "your work is due today, have you done it?" at which point I'll be running to the nearest workstation to get it done in a frantic hurry. Then I wake up and find that there is 2 or 3 more days on the report haha.
So I definitely do agree dreams are a manifestation of what bothers your mind, subconciously.
This is definitely one recurring dream theme that I have over several years.
P.S. I need to quit procrastinating.

I keep meaning to stop procrastinating but I never get round to it :)
Procrastrination is the thief of time. I used it steal Amelia Earheart, some stuff from the Titanic that they won't miss and some really neat stuff from the future.

This is exactly what happens to me as well! I will start procrastinating and worry about it subconsciously while I am sleeping and wake up at 4 o' clock in the morning flipping out only to find out that I still have time to finish my work. I think it also deprives me of good quality sleep. I feel like I don't get enough sleep even if I get a solid 9 hours of sleep.

I know i"m responding to this 3 weeks later, but it brings to mind an issue I was facing (dream-wise). I often dream about me having some contact with a man that I fell in love with a few years ago, but never gotten over him. Now we dont' speak, but one time, we were together (I was having serious issues in my marriage then) I would have dreams of coming across some writing of his, knowing he doesn't love me, or him rejecting me, one time I dreamed that he married me and was in love with me. In real life I gotten rid of everything that reminded me of him. I've confessed with my husband, which started a very hard struggle to save our marriage. But those dreams really hurt. I don't have anything on my computer that reminds me of this guy. I know I think of him a lot and I would catch myself and stop thinking of him, hell, it's been 3 bloody years since we broke up!!
Mind you, the dreams don't happen every week, but I'm getting them more often. Maybe it's because I'm getting it all out of my system?
I do believe in G-d, but what can He do? It's not like asking a wish from a Fairy Godmother or something...I don't know, it's just confusing. Thanks for sharing this topic. It is very interesting.

dreams are not always a reflection of out thought, sometimes they
are just dreams, or a mix of remembering old days or random
things that have happen to us but they get all mixed up with
wishes and desires. Dreams are nothing to worry about like you
wee, We c annot tell ourselves not to dream as its a normal
natural thing that happens to us all . stop worrying about
it as again a lot of times a dream is just a dream. If you
never dreamed that could show you need mental help otherwise
forget it.

I do agree with you one hundred percent. Dreams are in fact a reflection on what we are thinking. For some of us, that can be a bit scary. As we do have some rather strange thoughts. Or that is what one might assume if we had judged our dreasm. Still when we go to sleep and dream, it is an interesting thing, as we tend to move together our thoughts from the day and somehow that really affects us in the dream world.
Dreams can be a reflection of a number of things. Dreams can be a reflection of being joyful at what is to come. Dreams can be a reflection of being anxious of what is to come. We could feel happy or guilty. Still all of those feelings, along with our thoughts during the day are a mixture that leads to the dreams that we have each and every night, that will bring us some intriguing dreams, as we step into what could be considered an entirely different world.

Hi megamatt, Yes i feel sometimes dreams will come because of the sub conscious that means we are not fully sleeping. When i used to sleep previously i never used to get dreams, i just sleep and wake up in the morning. You may be right that all may be reflection of our thoughts.
Thank you so much for the response.
Have a great day.

I think dreams are mostly some sort of mixed up bits of thoughts and memories. Sometimes your subconscious works something out and gives you the solution a problem in your dreams. The classic example of that was the scientist who discovered the structure of benzene (C6H6). He dreamed of snakes, biting their tails and forming hexagons. When he woke up, he realized that the 6 carbon atoms in benzene formed a ring.
However, it's a common belief that dreams can convey supernatural information. There are a number of places in the Bible where people are told things in dreams and at least two Bible characters, Joseph and Daniel, had a special gift of being able to interpret dreams. I think lots of people have had dreams which seemed to relate to future events or things they didn't know about.
I've certainly had a few odd dreams that seemed to relate to future events. I've also noticed that there are a number of things (hotels, cubes, a partly terraformed version of Mars for example) and people which/who appear in my dreams a lot but I've no idea why. Some of the people I know but have never been particularly close to or obsessed with. Some are people I can't identify (an older gaunt looking man with short gray hair, a woman with long brown hair that's usually in a pony tail). This seems to suggest that there's something going on that isn't obvious.

Generally people say dreams are the same that we think in our mind. But I get dreams that are not at all connected to my thinking. New places, new people along with the familiar ones, and the incidents are not at all experienced by me. The moment I go to sleep, these dreams follow me.

Hello Jo,
How are you doing? Why you think unnecessarily, try to convert your attention to some interested things or find some new hobbies.
I dream very rarely dear. If I say in a funny way, I don’t get time to see the dream, getting in bed very late and that time my younger son started to sing the rhymes he learned in playschool else he wanted to listen stories, never mind if I say the same story again and again after that I may fall in asleep and alarm bells wakes me up at 6.00 AM. It is too much cold and I really wanted to spend more time in bed but thinking about the elder son’s school.. I have to give up that idea…
Dreams have different definitions, some are dreaming the day to day matters but some are getting dreams as warning. There is a saying in our native place, if you see any dream in early morning it may come true. I am not thinking much about the dreams; the only thing if I see any scary dream it may wakes me up quickly.
Happy Christmas to you dear. Enjoy and have fun.

Yes sreekala sometimes i think a lot that if i do any mistakes or done by me any mistakes unknowingly, that will eat my brain all the time. I dont know why. And it will come in my dreams too. I will not get scary dreams but i will get the dreams of my thoughts and some times i will get the dreams of my people my mom, grandmother etc., who are no more. Some times i wonder about this.
Thanks for your sharing. Have a wonderful day.

I think dreams are your subconscious going through things that you've seen or thought about during the day. Some people believe that dreams mean something and there are even people who interpret dreams. Personally I'm not sure it works like that. It seems more likely that you may have felt sad when thinking about something and then you saw yourself in your dream with tears rather than some psychological problem.
I used to have recurring dreams about an intruder in my home for many years. And then when I developed spiritually they automatically stopped.

I tend to think that dreams are a mixture of thoughts, fears, desires etc. Whatever is in the subconscious can manifest through dreams so that may explain why they can appear so jumbled and make little sense sometimes. I have a recurring dream that all my teeth are falling out and I am in a state of panic! It may mean insecurity who knows...

Hi Jotomy, Dreams are nothing but your sub conscious that relate to our every day experiences. I have seen totally unknown and strange people in my dreams and some of the images remain very clear in your mind. The other day I happened to see a person I had seen in my dream quite close to my home and then I realised that she was a financial consultant who had come to our house once when I was in hurry to leave. In fact, I had felt guilty at that time having given her an appointment not being able to keep it, she was supposed to come at a later date but never turned up.I think this little incident was tucked away in my sub conscious which manifested with some other experience and came out .It is so strange at times how everything finally has an association or a link...

Hi jo, it is partly... I mean when you think something, you visualize yourself doing or not doing something, the brain accepts that bit as a command like a song with a particular sequence, you know. Now, when you look around - when your eyes, ears, and other senses send messages to the brain, the brain priorititizes. The one that needs to be addressed first is given green signal and the rest of the visual is thrown aside. This process goes on throughout the day. In the night, when you are sleeping, your brain pulls out the discarded content. It tries to make a sequence of it, based on what you thought, or other instructions got even from a movie. The brain presents the picture to you, as if you are actually in that position. If you dont want it there, your brain will discard that dream...on the whole it is nothing but a bunch of nonsense. Rarely though you do find good insight. :)

Hi there,
I think it is normal to have dreams and it is completely true with me also that I dream about the things which are running through my mind in the day time. I can also feel it in the dream that I am dreaming about something which is something real for me in my real life. Sometimes I have lucid dreaming.
Lucid dreaming is a term used for the dreams which you can handle by yourself. You are partially awake or you know it consciously that you are dreaming and you can take your dream to where ever you want it to go. I have dreams in the night since my childhood and many of them I still remember. Sometimes I fly in my dreams.
I know that it is only a dream but I enjoy it and take my self to the place where ever I want to go, I explore different parts of the world by flying in my dreams. . So there is nothing wrong with you because it is normal.

As a therapist I used to run workshops on client's dreams and one thing that becamse evident was that every element in a dream seemed to represent a part of the dreamer's personality that needed some for attention. The attention it needed was just to be brought into waking consciousness and from there, to make a connection with a problem in the person's life that was unresolved. These problems could be from the present day or from any point in the past of dreamer's life. It is quite a fascinating subject, because dreams can even obscure messages to hide the meanings even more.
Personally, I dream every night, some I can remember easily and others not so easily. When I can remember a dream clearly, I invariably disover what it means. _Derek

Hi, according to the book that I have read entitled 10 000 meaning of dreams, there are two kinds of dream it could be a result of what you are thinking the whole day and it could also predict of a future happening only if you know how to decipher it. I have tried dreaming of a caution, it was like I am so sad at that time trying to escape from someone or something, its like I am being chase and I run so fast though I am almost out of breath. I manage it evade it and hide from them somewhere. The next morning I was riding a motorcycle with my neighbor, we are running so fast approximately 80 to 100 kph and the front wheel blew up. We end up lying on the road, I only have minor scratch in my arm but the one who was with me, driving the motorcycle was seriously injured having scratches and wounds, his jeans was teared.
Some old folks says that for a bad dream not to be real or happen we should tell it and wish not to happen in a part of nature perhaps a big tree, big stone etc. I don't know whats the connection but that's they say, I have read it in that said book too.
Happy Posting!

Some says that it was also thru our subconscious mind and yes it is a part of our thinking. Partly our everyday life everyday activities and sometimes its a part of our hidden mind that we are afraid to open up. Like a secrets that reveals into our mind. This is just my own analysis about dreams coz i am also dreaming what i am thinking behind my mind and as i said it was our subconscious mind which is not stop working in 24hours. Anyway there are lots of meaning when it comes to dreams it is up to us if we believe on ourselves or on science or just meaning of dreams. As long as i believe on my own thinking and analysis about my dreams well it does. For you my friend just be calm and try to have peace on mind before you sleep. Be happy.

yes it is...many times i have experienced to dream with something that is currently running on my mind the whole day... many times what i actually want to happen for example, that was really on my dream.. i agree that it has to do with psychological explanation about it cause i have watched from a tv program that what you are really thinking rcently will approximatelt be 90% be on your dreams.

In my country, we have an idiom which has the main idea like"if you think of something during the daytime, you will dream of it at night."That's to say, your dreams reflect your thought. It is indeed.whenever I am worried about something and keep thinking about it,the right thing will appear in my dream.

Sometimes dreams are just dreams, but sometimes it really can predict someting in the future. In Chinese,a book named "Zhuangzhou explain dreams"(poor translation),it can tell what the dreams' meaning. But believe it or not,all by yourself. If you think it is just a dream, then it can't work in your daily life.Right?
Have a nice day:)
