so instead I'm going back & handing out best responses. I figure since I can't come up with anything really original right now that's probably the best thing to do. What do you do on here when there's nothing grabbing your interest?

you know what if they are all so darned boring uath just show us boring posters here just what the heck an interesting to you and all the others complaining of no interesting discussions here and make your gosh awful really interestingdiscussion so we all will know how not to bore all you so easily bored people. for me I brouse the various interests and I find all sorts of interesting discussions. It so easy for some of you to say we are all so boring, try helping by makind what you consider are not boring discussions. I did not know we had to make discussions that equal the stuff you see in videos. I think really most of us make damned interesting discussions. interesting is not like movies we aree not here to entertain people but to reach out and make friends and share problems and issues in our lives.I have yet to not find something to grab my interest but I am not looking for shocking stories or sexy discussions. I just do not understand so many here who ca nnot find anything to respond to maybe as you are so easily bored you may just be a boring person yourself.

"maybe as you are so easily bored you may just be a boring person yourself" I am sometimes easily bored, so maybe I am a boring person myself. Or maybe I just have a short attention span and am easily distracted by shiny objects ... oh, what a pretty Christmas ornament ... wait, what was I saying again?

I just read other responses and get ideas from them. Then I construct my own response with the ideas I've gathered. But when I'm really bored, I just play a game of search anything on the internet.

Sometimes I feel the same way. I'll start discussions..Look through my responses that i've gotten to my discussions, and sometimes hand out BR's (but not very often.. Ha, I'm a slacker). Or other times I'll just get off MyLot in general and do something else. Meh. OOh, thanks for the BR on one of your discussions lol.

I usually try to find a discussion that captures my interest, go back and make sure that I have commented on all the responses to my discussions or stalk a few friends to find out where they are and what they are doing in hopes of getting into some fun and interesting interactions. If that fails, then I just shut off the computer and come back again another day.

Yea, kinda already did that. I'm sitting at a desk at work rolling labels so if I shut off the computer I'm stuck staring at a wall.

Well then I guess that staring at a computer screen trying to find an interesting discussion is definitely better than staring at a blank wall ... or you could just put a picture of a beautiful girl (or a hot guy if you so prefer) on the wall and stare at that ...

Nah, someone would report that as causing a hostile or uncomfortable work environment & we'd all be in trouble.

When some of the discussions do not grab my attention, I head over to the news and blogs to see if there is something of interest that may grab my attention. Sure enough always something there I can voice my opinion on. Always. LOL

Work has been incredibly slow lately. I've been sitting behind a desk rolling labels all day for the last week with only mylot & a Q&A site to entertain myself with.

There is news and blogs here in mylot, you can actually comment on them and when you comment in them you will actually get payed, the same amount with participating in discussions. So yeah that is what I can advice for you, you can try commenting in news and blogs, you can even discuss stuff there too,or maybe why dont you make your own discussions, Think about events that happened in your life in the last few weeks and make discussions out of them. Your identity is private anyway so there is no harm on sharing your personal life. List down 5 things you wanted to talk about so bad...

Not much going on these days & what little there is has already been put in a discussion. Right now at work there's just too much downtime.

well you can also make nostalgia threads about your past, but if you felt mentally blocked, commenting at news and blogs section of mylot could be the solution for now. this is mylot's news section: http://www.mylot.com/w/news/default.aspx you can react in every article there and comment about your thoughts to the news.

L.O.L.I am having the same problem I am on vacation and nothing to do but be on the computer, and I can't think of anything either to start a discussion about! I usually go the the no response pages and try to answer those until I can think of a discussion to start. Or you can go to your interest page and try to think of something from there to start a discussion about too, I do that also, well I hope this helps you and have a good day!

I've been stuck sitting behind a desk at work for days now rolling labels ( might as well be twiddeling my thumbs )& it's getting mind numbing. After days of it it's just hard to get into anything. The only inspiration I'd have would be something someone else is already writing about so that would be kinda pointless to just start another discussion about it. Besides, this one is actually doing well, even if I'm getting flamed...

You can go back through all your discussions and make sure you responded to all of them! Some people use those times to go to the discussions that were not responded to at all... but I have a difficult time doing that!

I do a pretty good job responding to my discussions. Typically they don't get many responses so that doesn't take long,. Handing out the best responses gave a good chance to review some & kill some time.

hello uath, I did same thing last week. I was here just reading some posts and so i decided to resolved some unresolved issues/topics that made 6 months ago. Yes,at least i am sure i am giving the right mark cause i got enough time to read posts from my discussion before giving the BR mark. HAPPY HOLIDAY

Yea, it's good to leave them a while to make sure they're not going to get any further responses before you mark the BR. It also gives you something to do when things are slow.

honestly, the answer to that would be to either youtube or sleep. But if it's just on mylot, well, i find it best to log out rather than do something that is not worthwhile nor something not enjoyable. like answering on discussions that are clearly out of my interests. :)

I wrote this while I was at work so Youtube isn't really an option. Videos don;t come in well.

Yea, I've been on here a while & have managed to keep from getting banned. Lately after so many days of staring at the screen it's getting difficult to find much to really interest me now. I'm running low on inspiration.

When I can’t find any interesting discussions, I sometimes browse over the profile of my friends and go over the discussions that they started or replied to and reply to those that interest me. I even reply to really old discussions. Other times, I just log-off at Mylot and just come back later.
