The next few days are going to be full of festivals to all of us through out the world. I am talking about the celebration of Christmas day and New Year day. Both of them are now international festivals celebrated all over the world. In spite of being Hindu by religion, we will celebrate both the festivals like the previous years. We will cut cakes, light the balcony of our small flat with tiny coloured bulbs, send SMS to our friends and relatives. Earlier we used to send greeting cards, but now a days SMS serves that purpose. How are you going to celebrate both the festivals?

I am Jewish but my sister is Christian. We have a tree and we are going to have a nice dinner and exchange gifts for Christmas.New Years? We usually just stay home and watch the New year being brought in at New York City via t.v. Happy Holidays!

Like you, we also stay home and watch different programmes on television on the eve of both Christmas day and New Year day and celebrate both the occasions in a homely atmosphere.

We'll have a day off on 1.1.2011 But we don't have a big celebration in this holiday. We're really have a big celebration on Tet holiday (on The moon new year). However, we also enjoy Christmas with very many lights and funds.
I'll go to the church, then go out with my friends on Christmas night. We'll go out late because we'll off on the next morning.
Merry Christmas to you and everyone!

We neither go to the church nor go out late. What we do is a simple enjoyment at home with watching television and having a delicious dish at night.

Itis party time in the house with family and freinds after church service. I am a christian and it meant so much for our faith in Jesus. CHruch service precedes and takes precedence over other celebration. On CHristmas Sunday, I am invited to a wedding on christmas and I look to wedding feast so it is going to be some heck lot of activity.

Christmas will be a relaxing day at home with a smaller meal since there are only two of us. We'll still have a roasted hen and a ham, just because that is what we like to do. Only a couple of desserts. Then later in the day we will go clean our church building. Just as a Christmas gift to the church :)
New Years eve night we will gather at the church to pray in the new year, asking God to bless the new year and just to get a good start. The young people of the church usually stay and have fellowship and play games and eat. Then they will pray at midnight. We older ones don't usually last that long :)
New Yrears Day we'll just relax and watch movies and munch on leftover turkey, ham and pie. Then we'll complain that we've eaten too much and probably take a nap :)

My husband and I host Christmas breakfast every year so the entire family comes to our house. It is nice because we don't have to pack the kids and presents and leave the house! It's great getting the entire family together to break bread and open gifts together. My mother-in-law will be here from out of town as well so that is even more special.
We don't have plans yet for New Year's day but it falls on a Saturday and I don't work weekends so I'm happy about that!
Happy Holidays!

I am also a Hindu but as you rightly said christmas and New year are international festivals and as we were ruled by the British for about 150 years the festive mood is imbibed in our blood for these two occasions though we are not christians. As for New year it is still new year for all of us.There is nothing wrong in celebrating festival of any religion and it adds to mutual respect and love among people of various religions...
