Many of us are visiting Facebook just to add friends and chat with them, some are playing games and others are doing business. So what are your purposes?

Hi there,
This rather a difficult question for me. I own an account there but do not know exactly for what reason or purpose I signed up there.
Not that I have many friends there. Not I do much writing there.
I exactly do not know. Sorry.

I joined facebook because I had family who lived far away on there. Then I discovered a lot of classmates from many years ago there also. I have also found it to be a great support system since losing my little boy last year. I have made SO many friends and found so many caring people who have listened and understood me at times when I felt so alone. It's so nice to be in touch with family when they live 3,000 miles away too!

I join facebook for no particular reason. I'm just curious. My sister is so addicted to FB, so I created my account.

That's nice because facebook connects us all wherever we are and whatever we do.

initially, I had joined facebook to join the friends I had made at a now defunct website. it is amazing how we were still able to connect and remain friends after all these years.

I made myself registration there, because i was curious and if i have to be honest, i didn't know anything about social networks, but since i use this website, i feel so good. I communicate with old friends, school mates and it's great pleasure for me. I'm member there from ... 3 or 4 years now and i played a lot of games in the past, now only one. I like being connected with so many different people.

It was just a fun site that all my friends in college were joining at the time. It was also exclusive to only a handful of schools so it made it even more appealing. We made silly groups and I think there wasn't a chat feature at first so I didn't join to chat with them although finally I could see people's AIM screen names so I guess I could actually chat with them online. It was just fun to see people's profiles and there was the potential of cyber stalking people too. I don't remember when I joined Myspace whether that was before or after Facebook. Probably before, but I never really use my myspace and only have a handful of friends as opposed to hundreds on Facebook.

my purpose joining facebook is to get more friends. in facebook, we can chat, send message or share our status to our friends. we can also share our photos together with friends. i also play games in facebook with my friends. we can share something needed in games at facebook. sharing link or post notes to be seen by our friends. i also use facebook when my friends or family didn't reply my sms. that's why facebook is important to expand my connections..

The reason why I use FaceBook is to keep in touch with my friends. I seldom use any of the 3rd party apps hosted on FaceBook (this includes games, quizzes, etc.). I personally think that they are a time waster.
When I first joined, I used to play games like FarmVille but then they started to bore me to tears. On a regular day, I will open facebook, skim through my wall, check my notifications/PMs, occasionally update my status, and minimize the window until one of my friends or family decides to message me.

I joined fb after many of my friends added me. I enjoyed it because I get to see and communicate with my long lost friends and families living abroad. Then I found that it can be a good networking site for business purposes and for seeking applicants for openings in our company.

Initially I joined Facebook because my girl had one. Then, more and more of my friends came into Facebook and joined. So, up till today, I only have one social networking site - Facebook. Merry Christmas to you.
