I know two girls from my hometown who hitchhiked from our country (Estonia) to the other side of the Europe, to Italy. They did it on summer holidays and I don't think they've spent much money on that trip. Perhaps you would like to try out something similar. It's kind of special way or traveling, because your schedule is open and doesn't depend on trains or planes. But that's only a suggestion.

When I lived in Bridge I cycled to my local train station and then took a train to Dover. I had a Young Person's Rail Card in those days so train fares didn't cost much. I cycled over to a visitors center then I parked my bike. Next I went for a scenic walk along the White Cliffs of Dover. The scenery was spectacular: an amazing looking castle, the blue sea and little ferries going to and fro and once at at At Margaret's Bay I saw a tall lighthouse. Wow! That gave me a kick from life and the only money I spent was the low cost train fare. Another great thing to do was cycle all the way from Dover to Deal along the cycle track. That was a very enjoyable route with superb scenery along the way. So therefore I am going to say that walking is free and cycling cost very little money. Traveling is my top hobby and I have been to more than fifty countries in the world. For that I have spent lots of money over the years. A low cost flight and camping make a very cheap trip also working overseas gives a chance to see a different country.

hi,
When I was your age, I explored my country first, I was just surprised how people would spend a large amount touring the world when they have not yet fully explored their own country especially the country side, to observe the people, old houses and churches, forts, and the native delicacies, handicrafts etc.... The trips would cause just a fraction instead of going abroad, saves precious dollars for my country too.
During this trips, I also get a kick from observing nature, yes the best things in life are free and one of them is nature, don.t forget to bring a camera, even just a cheap one, doubles the thrill without doubling the cost, good luck and happy Mylotting
