Hello Raja369, I'm still a newbie here but hopefully I can help because I'm from the UK and currently on my way towards getting a degree. Undergraduate degrees are graded in terms of 5 main classifications, where 1 is the 'best' you can get and it goes gradually down from there: 1. First Class Honours - Also referred to as a 'first', this is the highest achievement. 2. Second Class Honours - This is split into two parts. The first is the 'upper' division, which is known as a 2.1 This is what you asked about in your question. 3. Second Class Honours - 'Lower' division. 4. Third Class Honours - Known as a 'third' 5. 'Ordinary' degree - A pass, but any lower in score would technically be a fail. I'm not sure if you have a US degree, but the translation for a 2.1 is roughly a 3.3 to 3.79 GPA. Does this help? :)

There is also a Wikipedia entry that's quite helpful at explaining the UK system and its comparisons to US and Canadian degree levels. I can't post links as a new user, but try searching for 'British Undergraduate Degree Classification'.
