Kindlers... HELP!

I'm completely lost here... interested in the amazon Kindle but somethings holding me back, I can't quite put my finger on it. I can see the uses for it and the positive side of it but I can't really pinpoint a reason why I shouldn't by it other than a gut feeling that it would be a waste of money. Anyone help with this? Recommend some good kindle books that would get rid of that gut feeling and just make me want to buy it?
