Sticky residue from tape left behind: how to remove?

Ok. HOw do you remove sticky tape residue on something
LIke you take a sticker of ..and some sticky stays behind..
Or you taking off tape off an item but sticky stays ..what
is the easiest and preferably home product to remove this?

Don't keep nail polish remover, since I do wear nail polish..but it is probably
inexpensive ..Thanks.

We usually use "goo gone" (It's a cleaning product.) but some citrus stuff from the outside peel of and orange might help.

Tape residue is a gum so any oil will do but I prefer virgin coconut oil, rub it with the fingers if the surface is sensitive or some kind of a pallet if it is not sensitive, leave to dry or if the surface is washable rinse soap and water.
