How to breed angel fishes?

Iam a great admirer of this tropical fish. The only problem is when I start breeding them following what the fish books that I bought recomend it always turns out to be a failure. The eggs are usually hatched but unfortunately after three days they die out. Could anybody please give me a good advice on how to sucessfully breed them?

Hi Goodhunter, I have the same problem when I kept angelfishes years ago. It took a few tries before the little wriggling creatures survived. A few factors include: 1. the water quality (try to change 5% to 10% of water every day or every two days. This helps to get rid of some fungus.) 2. Add a bit salt to the water 3. buy the sink type pellets to feed the parents, so that they are not hungry enough to eat the young ones. 4. use the glass separator to keep the other fishes at the other side of the tank. I find it better that angelfish parents see the other fish, so that they will feel protective of their fish.
