What will be the best alternative job(healthcare related) for nurses who can't get in to a hospital job?

For nurses who can't get a hospital job, the best alternative is to try call centers related to health care. There are a number of companies out there who provides health care services through phone calls. It's also better if those nurses don't choose any job preferences. It's hard to get a job nowadays and choosing what and where to work will just add insult to injury.

I agree with this. I got plenty of friends who graduated and had their licensure examinations passed yet they couldn't gat any hospital jobs because they're already overpopulated with nurses. The best alternative would be to work at any Call Center Company. They accept any 4-year course graduates, all they require from you is your communication verbal skills. Another alternative with fair compensation is to work as a barista at any coffe bars. Working abroad without at least 2 years experience will be tough though. It's best if you find more alternative working place aside from the hospital instead of bumming around, right.

Working as a barista is an option but it's not the best option. Call center is the best option since it only requires your communication skills. Plus, you also have to be dedicated. All that is worth it when you recieve your first pay. Sometimes even just looking at your contract, looking at the basic pay is motivating already. Plus, there are a number of call center companies that offers great benefits like free membership in Fitness First, free Starbucks coffee gift cert, etc.. You're gonna earn good money in a call center provided it's a well established one, especially if you're assigned in sales.

Yeah, I think a call center job is good because you would need to pass a English Literacy Exam soon if you would like to work overseas. Therefore, the experience in the call center company isn't a waste of time or effort since while you're 'waiting' for your chance to practicing your profession, you are actually upgrading yourself.

You can try medical representative or medical transcription. Both are in the health care field. However, some clinics like derma demands for nurses. There are a lot of opportunities for nurses around. We just have to make the effort to grab them.
A piece of advice, while you are unemployed continue to read health care related books and articles. So while waiting to be called from the hospitals you have been applying to, your neurons are still working for nursing field.
I am also a nurse and unemployed as well. I am currently doing home-based writing gigs. The pay isn't bad though. You can try it if you want.

Thanks for the advice. This year I'll be trying my luck at HMO companies, clinics and schools. I'm currently employed by KGB Philippines as a Work at home Special Agent. Not health care related but at least I have something to do than nothing at all",

I am an unemployed nurse and I tried medical transcription. It depends on the company and the one I got into pays minimum wage, like 9000 a month. My educational background was helpful in my transcription job but since the clients were from the US, there were still some new things I was able to encounter. I quit the job because I'm preparing for a licensure exam for another country.
On another note, my friend tried bein

What about a Assisted Living facility or home. There are so many senior citizens that are in Assisted Living or Nursing Homes. They are always in need of help. Good luck with finding a job.

Hello Lady,
here in my country nurses are not very good paid, so young ladies are finding job in spa centers where they can make massages or alternative medicine. It sounds and looks amazing, specially when people are more interested in their health. Alternative medicine already has it's place on our market and people are looking from help there, because they are tired to take pills, injections and they are looking more for natural ways of reaching good health.
I, as a customer, i would like to eat fruits and vegetables lately, i love drinking tea when i'm getting sick or more vitamins. When i was little kid, i was always sick, always with pills and injections and i'm sick of that. I prefer herbal medicine and healthy life now.

I am a Nurse in profession and I am currently unemployed after my contract in the hospital expires. Maybe, we could try being a call center agents because that's the only job we can immediately apply to. I think that's the easiest alternative way for a nurse who is currently unemployed or can't find available vacancies in the hospital. As far as I'm concern, there are no specific qualifications on the fields of study you've been through. Thus, making us qualified to apply as call center agents.

I checked your profile and I am assuming from your interests that you are from the Philippines and are a stay at home mom. At first I was going to suggest that you could relocate if possible but thought that I should check first to see if you could. There are a lot of jobs available in the Canadian Northern Territories that pay 3 times the amount that is normally paid, but I don't suppose that would be an option for you with kids. You could get a license to practice and go into child care or elderly care giver at your home or work at an old peoples home or a facility for kids that are physically challenged. To help with the immediate earning you could bake goods and sell to friends, relatives, stores, restaurants, etc. if you can sew well that is also another option, sew something simple that is easy to do, pot holders, hats, men's handkerchiefs, anything that you think would be a quick sale in your area. Look at your hobbies and see if there is anything there that you could turn into a money earner. If you are good at organizing you could arrange birthday parties for kids, or offer a specific item that can be rented or bought. I think you just need to sit with pen and paper and jot down what are your options and take it from there.

Sorry for the double post ^.^' I accidentally hit the post response button. See, I'm using a laptop and the touchpad is very sensitive. Just hover over it, not even touching it, would activate it
Back to my message, my friend applied to a hospital to become a nursing assistant instead. It may not be the same as a registered nurse's practice but at least she got hospital-related experience and at the same time get paid.

With some of the change is school reform, it is making it a necessity for the schools to have more qualified nursing staffs, especially when there are students with medical needs, like severe allergies, or diabetes. Look into your area and see if they are hiring. Look at in home care, and also assisted living facilities.

Since you have a medical background and there is less demand for nurses right now, the best alternative for me is the pharmaceutical industry, it's very lucrative. You can start out as ordinary medical representative or detail man/woman, then strive to go up the corporate ladder.
