Stalking someone on the internet....

Hi there mylotters!!I am an IT student and there were times that all I did was to stare at my pc and do nothing but manage my account in different social networking sites.Then one day I met a person who really caught my attention.We don't really meet and we were not really introduced what happen was I ask my friend the name of that person.That person don't really know me directly.So much with my interest on that person I search his profile on the net particularly into one social networking site and there I find out his info and I was tempted to look at some of his pictures.Now I want to ask all of you if this thing that I am doing is already what you call cyberstalking?Is this thing I'm doing okay??

There's nothing wrong with being interested in someone on the internet. After all, if they didn't want people to see their information or pictures, they wouldn't have put them up. It would be stalking if you tried to find private information that they didn't have posted. If you started sending them messages and kept it up even if they didn't respond, then that could be considered stalking, especially if you did it on more than one site.

Hi there Catana!!Its a good thing to know that what I am doing is not stalking.I almost panic when I watch this show on tv about cyberstalking.Its not really a hobby of mine to search for peoples profile in the net.And I have no intentions of sending this person messages just to know some personal informations about him.I guess I should just approach him and be his friend directly then after that we can also be friends online.I hope things will workout just fine...

its a good way to search all your ex'es too:P well I dont think theres a big deal after all they can control their privacy setting...so its up to the person..

Hi. jordq7. It sounds as if you may have a crush on this person. It seems very much innocent. It looks as if you are just trying to find out more about this person too. It don't think that you are cyberstalking this person. If you are constantly trying to get more information about this person, then yes, it could be this. Only if you are in a desperate case that is. You seem like you like this person, it does not show that you are being a stalker of any kind or anything.
