I have had this experience of lending money to my friends and not having it returned back in many occasions. What do you think about people who borrow money but forget to return back when the time comes?

It's okay not to return it back provided by a good reason. I am a very approachable and understanding friend, give me your valid reasons I can give you extension. Don't hide or evade my calls and don't present me the crap why you can't face me is because you don't have one to show due to shame.

I had this experience with one of my team members in my workplace. He barrowed money from me one day and told me he will be returning back within a week. I lent this guy some money and after a week he did not repay me back and it went on for 2 weeks. I didn't want to hurt him so I didn't ask him about it. Then after a month we came face to face and I told him I needed the money and he said he will return the money back the next day. From that day on he is tryng everything to avoid me and I feel ashamed to remind him all the time. I decided not to ask him for the money anymore. I took a resolution that day never lend money to anyone because that spoils relatonship. What do you guys think?

If they continuously "forget" to repay a loan, I figure they never really intended to repay the money in the first place. Some people really do forget and need a gentle reminder. I don't lend money to family or friends. If I have what they need and can spare it, I give it to them with no strings attached. That way I won't be disappointed.

I suppose 6precious is right. If you want to lend money because in my language there is a saying giving a loan spoils love. If you really want to lend money give it with no strings attached and don't expect him to return back. If you can't do it this way don't lend anybody. This is the lesson I learnt.

i think there are three kinds of people ..
one who borrows for not returning it back ever.
one borrows borrows and returns only after a big chase and
the last one is the simple guy, sober enough to return back what he doesn't own.
i just manage to stay away from the first guy and lend to only those whom i trust.Even some of my friends belong to second and third category.. But when i come across with any friend belonging to first category, i don't give him another chance to do that same thing again..

Ahhh, you're making me reminisce about people who I wanted to I better not finish the sentence. I think of those people in the lowest regard as I often described them as persons with the highest arrogance who walked the Earth. I mean, I lend them my hard-earned cash out of good faith and they refuse to return what is entitled to me in the first place. It shows that these people have bad characters that they won't even think of the lender as a person who also needed that money someday or somehow. It is really inconsiderate on the part of the borrower who sometimes talk back when being asked to pay up their loans.

they dont have word of honor and they are very irresponsible
my friends are borrowing money from me
some of them are paying but most of them are not
and few of them are paying even half of the money they borrowed.
but now,
sometimes, when they are borrowing, i said i dont have money
but it depends
if i see the person need it so much then i give him,
sometimes i literary give it
i dont understand why i am shy to get the
money they borrowed from me
and
why are those borrowers are
mad and angry at me when im going to get my money

Be careful not to be taken advantage of. Once friends start realizing its easy to "borrow" money from you it can soon escalate into more and more money. Its good to look out for one another but sometimes people got to learn to handle their own business.

I think it stinks. I leant quite a bit of money to a family member who then said I had not leant it, even though I had my bank statement showing the money going from my account into theirs. I still have not got it back and the family member will no longer speak to me because I said I want it back. It was ALL my savings and is very important to me.
What I hate is when you ask if you can have your money back it sounds like you are begging for something, even though it was yours to begin with!

Hi! why u go for money! people r such that they never even return the containers which v give them with some dish. I think such people r greedy. They never want to part with the things that once come into their possesion. For containers they say ,'Oh! I forgot! other wise they say, i am just about to return it. We should be aware of their nature and learn lesson, and implement. That lesson is we should avoid either lending them or forget about what we lent them. We must thank them ,for they taught us a lesson , never to have deal with such people. This experience make u very careful , hereafter in lending money.
