dear mylotters, i misplaced my spectacles this morning. and you know how it is to be dependent on it.. nothing gets done without it. these days i keep misplacing. am getting older, forgetfulness comes. at times it is just on my forehead but i keep searching. my granddaughter points out, "Lola, it is there on your forehead". sometimes when in the office, i hook it on my blouse at the front. i wonder why i dont see it and i keep looking at the drawers of my table. how frequent do you change your eyeglasses? what is its power/grade? ann

Contacts, you don't lose them. I don't remember what my prescription is, lol, but it doesn't change that often.

Yeah. I've had my contacts since 7th grade and I am now 21, so about 8 years. People say that glasses are cheaper, but I don't see why, contacts last a while and you can get like 3 pairs for like 14 dollars.

hi _sketch_(1682), is it good using contacts for a long time? i guess i am just too afraid of side effects. practicality wise, i find eyeglasses cheaper. have a very nice day. ann

I just got new glasses a couple of months ago. Before that it had actually been a couple of years since I had gotten new ones. My eyes are pretty bad. I can see without them, but not really well. Sometimes I will take my glasses off at night and I will lay them down in different places then I forget where I put them. I hate it when I do that.

thedaddym hi, you got to change the habit. you need just a place where you put the eyeglasses. i get to wake up in the middle of my sleep. afraid to stumble into anything in the dark, i always place my eyeglasses on the headboard together with my cellphone. but being out somewhere, there will be a time.. that you will forget about your eyeglasses. and that is the trouble here. have a great day and a wonderful holiday ahead. ann

HI, Oh...If I were to misplaced my spectacle, then it will be a big problem for me because I need it to do my things everyday. I can't carry on with my work without my spectacle. I have been wearing on spectacle since my primary school till now. I ever thought of changing to contact lenses, but then I dare not put on the contact lenses into my eyes,so at last, I moved back to spectacle. I don't change my spectacle frequently and this current spectacles has been with me for more than 4 and I am still using it now. The condition is still good. And I will only go for my eye check up when I need to change a new spectacle.

That's a natural incident to us getting not younger anymore. LOL . For me it's because we are unconscious of what we are doing with our eyeglasses or keys and the like when we are putting them at rest , since it has become a routinary one already. But if we are focused on how we hide them, we could readily locate them. Even some of those youths are forgetful too. I myself, would always be looking for my eyeglasses when i inadvertently placed them somewhere, not on its usual place. So i keep one at home, and one at the office because i need them only when i read or look at writings and prints. You are not alone. . . we are many and will be multiplying ! LOL

hi simplyd, its better to be safe having several than losing one and you have a bad day until you get another pair. as one gets older, she/he should start to be more keen and alert where he/she puts your eyeglasses. thank you for your response. have a very nice day and wonderful holidays ahead. ann

hello kal, it is funny but very true also in my case. there are several spare eyeglasses yet when you need them you cant seem to find them. it is either in your forehead or in your pocket. and then you keep looking all over in all the places that you passed through. i laugh at myself when that happens. have a beautiful day. ann

I have invisable glasses, they become that way usually about once a day. I have tried tying them on with a chain and even that doesn't work. In fact I think eye glasses are on a par with socks in the dryer.

hi pat, that is a very funny comment. maybe you dont need it as much as i do. your vision must be very good even with your age now. i was told its partly due to diet. you being in the country, i can say, yes, its true. thank you so much for your response. have a great day. ann

dear neshrie, do not wear eyeglasses when you can read without it. it is very difficult when you start getting dependent on it. only wear eyeglasses with the prescription of opthalmologist. have a nice day. ann

dear sweetmary, i always wanted to try wearing contact lenses but it just costs too much for my budget. and also seeing and reading side effects of wearing makes me think twice. i can take off my eyeglasses when on the road or doing other things, but when i read - it is a must that i wear it or else i will not understand anything from the magazine or book that i am reading. tv - no need for glasses. thank you for your response. have a very nice day. ann

hello friend. I do agree with you. We share the same experience. I lost my eyeglasses last month, and I'm not even sure if I misplaced it or I'd just overkept it somewhere at home. I have astigmatism, and I rely on my eyeglasses to avoid over exposure to radiation for staying too long in front of the computer. It does help my eyesight too. I cannot tell my mom, because she'll get mad for sure. She bought it for me the previous year, and that was an expensive one. :( I'm still depressed up to now. And I tend to be forgetful too, noting that I'm too young for that. I'm only 20! :(

juniorstringbean, next time you have the eyeglasses, buy that chain where in you could just hang the eyeglasses from your neck without it falling. thats what i plan to do next. you feel depressed because you know your mom will be angry. just be honest to her. be ready to accept whatever she says to you. if she will get mad, then so be it. am sure next time you will be very keen on how to keep precious little eyeglasses. have a nice day. ann
