My pc often hangs after returning from standby mode. Takes approximately 10 minutes to recover. What cause?
I use win xp pro sp2. The situation hangs are marked with a non-functioning of the mouse when moved. Mouse sometimes respond for a while, but later freeze again and continue that way repeatedly. It was only after about 10 minutes, the PC can really recover from the situation and they will be able to work a normal mouse. I used to activate the standby mode of the keyboard. Often I have to reset the PC because of this. What is the cause and how to overcome the problem quickly? for your help, before I thank you.

The problems might be due to the below reasons,
RAM- due to vey less memory
harddisk-hardisk might be having issue as it cannot recover immidiately from stand by mode.
CMOS- if you reset or remove and refix cmos if clear cache memory in processor. it too helps some times.
operating system.- if you installed lot applications, those services will be running in background. so, those services cannot start at the same time and your system may be not working.
I WILL SUGGEST YOU TO RUN THE DIAGNOSTICS IN THE BIOS MODE. TO VERIFY IF THERE IS ANY ISSUE WITH THE BIOS,HARDISK,MOUSE, PROCESSOR ETC...

Could be a RAM issue as when coming from standby mode your computer has to reload like it is booting so the lag is more apparent because you aren't setting with a loading screen in front of you as it loads the Operating System so it has to do this when coming from standby also you should update your Windows XP as they are on SP3 right now. This is more of a RAM issue so you should keep the number of startup programs down to a minimum. Also run a Disk Clean up and disk defragmenter this isn't a sign of bad sectors or a need to reinstall you operating system if anything you should consider updating the Ram so that you computer doesn't have a slow down.
The nonfunctioning of the mouse is just a sign that your system is really bogged down with reloading everything and since it returns to functioning some 10 minutes afterwards leads me to it being a Resource Issue (Hardware) and not a Operating System issue.

I agree with the first comment, it can be many things.
Try to analyze it before you take a decision whether to reinstalling/repairing or going to the service center.
This is the way : when your mouse are freezing, does the Harrdisk lamp indicate that it is working?
If yes, then it is right to defragment your harddisk and do disk cleanup. It may be caused by too many programs on your computer and you have limited memory capacity as well as harddisk capacity. That freezing comes because there is no enough space in the memory or harddisk to place your programs.
if it is no, then repairing your Windows can be a solution which is better to try.
After those two solutions, if you still cannot solve the problem, try to go to the service center because it can be hardware physically error because it's reached its lifetime. hopefully it is helping.

Many thinks can cause this problem.
First of all I suggest to make a defragment.
If that not help try to repair your installing OS.
Put your windows CD in the mashine and restart from CD or DVD.
After CD bootup your system, select repair.
Maybe also, a windows update will help.
Take care if you was install (before the problem starts)any hardware that don't use the right drivers.
And at the end you can use your restore tool to go back in a date that your Pc was working well.
