Why do artists often portrayed as a pretentious figure critical of Social and Political conditions? We apologize if it offended anyone, just that I noticed during these artists always portrayed that way by the Indonesian mass media. The simplest example can be found in the comic strip of national newspapers: from Doyok in Lembergar Poskota, until Benny & Mice in the compass on Sunday. Not covered by the painter and poet of street art is often not known, but every day his work would criticize society and government. I got a bit curious to imagine the atmosphere of the interaction of the artists of Indonesia in Jakarta Arts Institute .... Is it the fact that the artist is always automatically become an expert amateur socio-political and quasi-critical quasi know? Sometimes even the people of Indonesia seem more confident view of the artist rather than (say!) a professor of Faculty of Social and Political Science from the University of Indonesia .... I do not know how the artists abroad, so the question is focused on the artists of Indonesia.
