Do you have good meatless dishes that you enjoy?

I am looking for ways to enhance nutrition and cut down on animal consumption. Don't get me wrong, I love a good steak or burger as well as the next person, but I am one that if I have meat, thats all I have. I'm trying to incorporate a meal or three a week thats vegetarian or even vegan.
Now, I know I can look this up online, but then we wouldn't get paid for this discussion now would we?

I can give you a few if you want. Tofu dishes for example. You can just fry them and dip it in a mixture of soy sauce and vinegar sauce. Or you can substitute tofu for the meat that you use to any dish that you cook. Other veggies like broccoli or cauliflower, are good when you stir fry them with oyster sauce. You can also cook pasta with pesto and add veggies or use sun dried tomatoes and olive oil. And of course you can prepare a variety of salads for the week.

I am alright with tofu, but so far I have only used it in shakes to add protein to them without adding too many extra carbs. I liked it, but I haven't had it as a meat replacer.

I really liked it in the shakes, but then the berries and other fruits I used masked the taste and it just came across as creamy instead of whatever tofu tastes like originally. lol.

For sandwiches I like a good eggsalad too. I get tired of eating meat too although meat is my husbands number one food LOL
But give me some toast and egg salad and I am good to go or grilled cheese
Gee now you got me thinking its time to eat
Have a great day and will be back with the casserole recipe for you

HI hon I started a discussion with the Meatless dish so you can find it on my discussions. Hope you try it if you have any questions please feel free to give me a yell! not sure if all Walmarts carry the same stuff, but if you like fish over meat, I have been able to buy some single fillet tilapia in a larger package so you only have to take out and open what you want to use and put the rest in the freezer. I have a REALLY good recipe for that if you like fish and heres the catch, LOL it takes only 8 minutes in the broiler. Then I eat it with either rice pilaf, or long grain and wild rice. Happy eating I am always coming up with something new.

Lol that is so true. Well, try something like a veg patty if you like your burgers, or a veg curry. There's always vegetable lasagne or casserole made of veg. You probly don't want to know about meat substitutes like tofu or quorn as your not a full vegan so try substituting anything that normally has meat in it for vegetables. Try stuffed peppers, stuffed with vegs or Asian pakora snack that don't involve meat at all but are a great tasting snack

Congratulations! The more meatless meals we can have, the better. The better for us, for others, for the animals & for the planet. Your hip pocket will also benefit greatly in these difficult economic times as well as your health. Unfortunately I don't have a heap of recipes to dump in your lap, but as you say, there are many good online vegan recipe websites. I like Chinese cuisine & used to eat it a lot, but am not familiar with cooking it because I prefer to eat it when I dine out.

Hi there!
I suggest you try tuna spaghetti,it's meatless, instead of meat, you use tuna flakes as tha ingredient for it. I just made a recipe on it in notecook, you can find it there if you like. It is so easy to prepare. Also you can try cooking your favorite veggies in oyster sauce,it's like you have mixed it with meat but it isn't.
Happy cooking!

My favorite vege meal is a vegetable stir fry. I use chinese rice noodles, and cook those like spaghetti. I fry up some of my favorite veggies- broccoli, green beans, pea pods, carrots-and put those on top of the noodles. I top it all off with some sesame sauce. It's delicious, and it's pretty filling.

search for tofu recipes and dishes, one of the best especially if you have people or children in the house that will find it hard to make a quick diet switch, food value is similar to meat but easier for the body to digest, good luck
