You like my new avatar?
This was a deer I shot a couple years ago.
It was very tiny and normally I would of let it go but someone else had shot it and I had to end it's suffering.
We ate it.
That is my $2 Bowie knife sitting on top. It's the first time I used it.

Hi Toads,
Re: on your comment, you have not provided the links to your articles, please do so.
Your feelings are right. A free society should be able to defend itself. I know I grew up in this country that has gone through a lot in its two hundred years of history. First, there were the Spaniards, then the Japanese, Americans, a sprinkling of Dutch, British and other European colonizers.
Nowadays, a few arms manufacturers has established a name for their products worldwide. I hope to see "a well-regulated militia" in the future, able to uphold the ideals of a free society in a free nation.
I may be digressing from the discussion, but it has to be done, thanks for your remarks.

Is that a very big knife or a really small deer? Nice knife for $2.
I have helped on a hunt before but never shot anything. I have helped dress a deer also and made my share of sausage. I like the sausage alright and I like venison chili meat but my favorite is the backstrap, of course. I like to chicken fry it.
I'm not fond of venison steaks or roasts. I can eat the ground meat like chili or burger meat or sausage because you have a chance to sort of hide the taste. Not that it tastes bad... I just don't like to think of what it is.

It is both a big knife and a very small deer.
Someone else had shot him in the hind leg and he could hardly walk when I found him in my woods. I got the knife at a flea market, it is cheap Pakistani stainless but for $2 it's still a steal.
