Depression is an imbalance of the mind. A person could be born with it and would have got it from one of their parents. People have different personality types and so a happy go lucky person would be a happy sort that wouldn't have depression. A lady can feel hormonal and that comes from her monthly cycle. If a person has lots of bad luck he or she might begin to feel depressed. Some people have got bipolar disorder and this is a type of depression. It is also called manic depression. A person that is depressed should work out how to make himself or herself happier. Dancing to music can lift a bit of depression. A walk or cycle ride can make a depressed person a little happier. The person needs something to look forward to like a vacation.

Well environmental factors such as unstable financial situations certainly come into play, but it all comes down to an imbalance of dopamine and other hormone levels. Even diet and not getting enough sunlight contributes to depression. Those with a family history of depression and other mood disorders are put at a higher risk.

I doubt that you'll be able to find one reason for depression. It is about an imbalance in the brain, but what might lead up to is might vary. It is different for each person. It's just one of those things that you can't give just one reason for it happening to people.

Money . .
I think most people are depressed
because they do not have this material thing- money.
In China and Korea, the reason why they are happy is also money and vice versa.
Accordingly, they can buy whatever they want and can go to place they love if they have money. Bottom line, they want to marry rich partner.

I do not really know the causes of depression. I have never had it or even known anyone that has or does have it. I guess that there are many factors for this, stress of many different things, having things play on your mind, letting things build up inside you rather than sharing a problem, losing someone close, being left by someone close to you, seeing yourself as a failure, not having many friends or other people around you etc. I am sure that there are many more things that do contribute, a shame really.

over expectation is the main root cause for depression. You have some desires and you see people around you are not co operating or just don't care about your ideas, then you feel isolated in a crowd and depression attacks you. you feel helpless because of mistaken views and scenes around you. the best way to overcome is speak things frankly and have a simple means of life.

my teacher says those who suffer depression is mainly because they lack of love and attention when they are young. Those people feel there is no point of existing and they feel life is meaningless.

There is not just one reason of depression. It is a difficult disease that can happen as a result of a massive amount of factors. For some, depression happens due to a loss of a loved one, a change in one's life, or after being diagnosed with a serious medical disease. For others, depression just happened, possibly due to their family history.

hi,
i think because of a heavy problems in their life,or maybe they are tired.
It is believed among psychoanalysts that attempting to escape a situation is a very basic human instinct, and they call it psychological defense mechanism. This triggers off when we don't want to face an imminent situation that's supposed to be undesirable, bitter or humiliating.

Coming from the medical perspective depression is an imbalance of serotonin and dopamine in teh brain. The levels need correction in order for the brain to function properly. It can be something that is genetically passed down, can also be brought on by external influences.
