I found an interview online where Ridley Scott states he will be directing the next two installments of the Alien franchise. Then came the bad news: after over 30 years of waiting for Scott to come back to directing Alien and waiting over 10years to see another installment, he hits me with the word "3D". I couldn't believe it. Scott has a chance to make a prequel to one of the oldest and best horror franchizes in the world! Surly he doesn't think he needs to rely on the marketing gimmick known as Real-D, does he? I mean, name one movie in Real-D that has TRULY terrified you.. I dislike Real D becuase most of the time it doesn't serve a purpose and it really hurts my eyes. So, what are your thoughts? Do you think Real-D will be seriously over used by 2013?

I don't mind 3D that much. I don't like the idea of prequel to begin with. It's going to take away the little mystery Alien franchise has left. I hope Ridley Scott is not doing it just for the money.

I think a prequel is actually just what we need. Because the Alien franchise won't be around forever. We need to find out where the xenomorphs come from, the space jockey origin and the merging of the company. But I don't like the fact that it could be in 3D and include unnecessary scenary shots just to accomidate

I disagree. The more we know about xenomorphs, the less scary they get.
