I gotta say that this year's Christmas was a very memorable for me indeed. I celebrate Christmas with my bestfriend in their home and I have eaten the most unfamiliar food that they have prepared for Christmas. It was a roasted ham unlike any other ham that I tasted it has a delightful and a very savory taste. Does anyone have eaten a very special food this Christmas? Experiences are very appreciated. ^^,

Every Christmas I go to relatives house and we eat Pho. It is a vietnamese noodle dish, and I greatly love it. It is easy to get full on but the meal satisfactory is there.

There were lots prepared for this year's Christmas but to me, the most special on the dining table that night was the roasted/suckling pig (or "lechon", as we call it). Here in the Philippines, especially in the province, "lechon" is usually prepared for big and special occasions. However, last Christmas Eve was exceptional because I actually haven't had lechon in a long time. I craved for it these past few years, well, not just the eating part, but the whole picture of excitement and festivity during celebrations. Dipped in vinegar (called "Pinakurat" in Visayan dialect, which means "to shock/surprise"), it was like experiencing the crispiness and tastiness of lechon for the first time. What made the celebration even more special was that it was the only time again in many years that our immediate family and relatives got together for Christmas.

I am very glad u had a good experience. That's alot better than not liking it, lol. I didn't have anything different this year. My kids always want the same thing. Happy new year.

I went to my youngest daughter´s house this year. She has a 3 months old baby and there were also all her partner´s children (4) by a previous marriage. She decided to set things the children would like at the table instead of cooking a long time and having to coax them to eat. So we had a buffet style Christmas dinner with chicken wings and baby ribs, lots of different salads and many kinds of desserts (from raw fruit to pies, kuchens and cakes).
None of the food was really new to me, but the Christmas diner was different.
I thought I´d take stuffed nasturtium for appetizers, but decided against it. Children don´t like new tastes and it´s difficult to make.
Take care!
