So, i get it that we are all from different countries. Every nation has his own traditional dishes that they put on the table in New Year.
The dishes that are "must" for a Christmas table, what will they be? If you can give a receipt i will be really thankful.
Or just tell the name and what it is. If you have a pic then give it too.

Hi there.
First and foremost, I am from an Asian country. And ever since I was born, most of my fellowmen (including my parents) believe that it's lucky or auspicious to have twelve (12) round fruits on the table for the New Year. Whether this is true or not; this has been a common practice for most of the families here in our country. Personally, I don't have anything against this belief. I must agree that fruits are healthy foods. But I have to say that this has a disadvantage. Everytime this holiday season draws near, prices of commodities shoot up. In particular, fruits are so expensive during this time of the year. Prices usually double up or even thrice the price on normal days.
Anyway, here's wishing that all of us will have a prosperous and joyful year ahead; in the year of the Metal Rabbit. Regards.

Do the fruits have to be the same? Or different?
I have never heard of that tradition, but I would like to try that for our table. It is really beautiful tradition, especially for a new year table. I wonder do you put them from start, or wait after food is eaten and put them with sweet table cause we have two - first one for food, and the second with a lot of traditional sweets and for fruits.
The prices really are extra high on Christmas for products. Just today we couldn't buy eggs, when any other time they are everywhere. Finally we found some with cost 0.5$ per one:) it's six time more then before. this really caused some laugh lol.
what i don't understand - what are they going to do with them, cause the shops are really empty for eggs.
